I simply won’t play mp until they implement real playlist. Slayer, Swat, objective, snipers hopefully on large maps, etc… I will not play oddball and stronghold again. I don’t like them. I don’t enjoy playing and last I checked this is a game for enjoyment, not for egotistical developers that believe we will like a game type if forced to play it. Way too listen 343…
So my philosophy is when playing online, you are either having fun at someone else’s expense, or they’re having fun at yours, so if I’m not having fun, I leave, witch shouldn’t be a problem to anyone with an IQ higher then 0 meaning if you disagree with this you’re rather dumb, the banned isn’t going to stop me from quitting if I’m not having fun, and I will continue to do so, but it will stop me from playing the game, mission accomplished, and it’s rather arrogant to punishment people for leaving when you give them the option, plus there’s the moral equivalency here, there is no objective argument that anyone can make to argue that leaving a game early is morally wrong but, an objective argument could be made to argue that punishing someone for doing absolutely nothing wrong is morally wrong, you would need to prove a person leaving a game early was nefarious, witch is impossible, and of course this only causes more problems if anything.
So yes, the banning of plays for leaving for any amount of time is evil, free to play or not. You don’t beat the hand that feeds you.
Have strongholds challenges I need to do from yesterday - played Quick Play probably 10-15 games with a group, not one game was Strongholds.
I got to play Oddball 10+ times, CTF a couple times, and Slayer…
Also, when Slayer is chosen in Quick Play, you don’t get credit for Team Slayer challenges…
The Fix? IMO, more granular gamemodes where people can choose what they want to play.
Agreed, I’ve been stuck with a strongholds challenge for a while now, kept getting every other gamemode except that one, so I ended up getting tired and leaving until I found one I needed, got banned after leaving three after searching for 2+ hours for one game of strongholds.
If they hand out challenges for specific gamemodes, then there needs to be seperate playlists for them, otherwise it can sometimes take forver for simple challenges that otherwise would be easy to complete.
Leaving is rampant enough as is, if people could leave ‘willy-nilly’ with no consequences attached to their actions, most ‘Quick Play’ games would be insufferably one-sided and almost indistinguishable from ‘Bot Bootcamp’ mode.
You shouldn’t get banned for anything until the server issues are resolved. I’ve been banned twice today trying to complete a BTB challenge. It won’t even launch the game, but I guess failure to connect counts as me quitting?
Try disabling the ‘High Resolution Texture Pack’ ‘DLC’ if you’re playing on ‘Steam.’ That resolved all of my crashing issues.
I’m on console, as the forerunners intended.
Understood, not sure what could be causing your issue on console, as consoles tend to be much more stable overall than ‘PC.’ Hope your crashing issue gets resolved!

No matter the game, quit penalties don’t work and punish only legitimate players. People will always quit for whatever reason. If the quitting is rampant like it is in infinite then there’s issues with the game itself. Punishing the playerbase for your bad game design is stupid. This is also one of the reasons why smurfs are worse than ever. They’re avoiding bans. People do it all the time in R6 and it ruins the game. What should happen is you should get deranked an entire rank immediately in ranked playlists, and lose the ability to get “exp” or level up your progression for a while. There shouldn’t be any penalties in social gamemodes
Because BTB still isn’t fixed. It’s a known issue.
In ranked, the ban makes sense. The team is supposed to work to win or at least do well.
In social absolutely NO. People have a thousand reasons to leave the games, they are replaced by bots and quickly by another player. Also, I don’t understand what difference it makes if a player does nothing or walks away. Almost better to go.
If you’re worried about people leaving the game, create your own team. NO to the social ban and relax “taking a few shots”.

I agree with everything past this. I think youre going about it the wrong way.
We don’t want to remove the ban system for doing it"s job and discouraging what is otherwise considered a poor behavior.
It is not the Ban system that is causing you to quit, it’s how challenges are set up. So instead of removing a system working as intended, we should fix the one that is unfair becuase of RNG causing you to quit 7 times just to have the attempt at completing a challenge, this way you won’t have to quit to begin with.
Whether this be by adding more playlist to accommodate these challenges, or removing hyper-specific ones such as “oddball wins” and just making it “Arena wins”, I don’t know which you’d prefer.
if they could have the bots come in and replicate that players expected KPM then it wouldnt matter if we left.
Only players who leave at the start should be banned.
I have regular frame rate issues after update so i have to play quickplay to test it out, sometimes i have to quit to fix my game. even then i try to play a few kills.
No that’s stupid. They ban you if you lose your internet connection too. The only game mode I enjoy playing is Tactical Slayer. I flat out refuse to use the Mangler and the Stalker Rifle. So when the game kicks me out do to inactivity am I going to get banned for that? What if I have to leave a match to go somewhere, to the store, work, bathroom, etc… Are they going to ban me for that? People can’t play 24/7. Some of us actually have lives outside of the game.
