You shouldn't get banned for leaving quickplay matches

If the battle pass was designed to make random objectives in specific modes, it is obvious to expect that players want to get the challenges at the cost of leaving, causing their ban.

I honestly don’t think 343 have this by accident.

A better solution would be to where you can pick which gamemodes you want to play.

Your challenges are no excuse to quit neither is your aversion to the game mode.

Things are way more fun with friends. Get a few and even the bad games go by much faster.

The quit ban has created a plagued AFK meta ever since Halo Reach. Which is worse than a teammates quitting. I would rather have a bunch of quitters than AFKs.

Challenges need to be fix or the way the modes work. But one should get a small temporary ban if you keep leaving matches.

Saying you hate a mode is not an excuse. Other games even ban you for a certain amount of time if you keep leaving matches.

So why is Halo any different? (Note I will restate, certain things need to be change/ fix, but not banning people will make people leave matches more and more creating another issues.)

You don’t get banned

I quit out of 43 games in a row without a single ban. I quit before we can move our characters tho, I only quit to find the gamemode I need

exactly this! Plus in Infinite they will get replaced, so its either the chose between player with basicly a player less (because the player that otherwise would have quit would just go AFK if he isnt allowed to quit) or with the same amount of players. Then i much rather have them quit, so a new willing player will join!

I completely agree. Ban times for leaving shouldn’t be in the game since join in progress is a thing. If anything the ban times are going to turn people away. Especially with it being free to play it makes zero sense to have it in the game

Once we have all the playlists that we’re used to having in every other Halo game, the rule should be to punish the first 2 quitters with a time-out but don’t punish the remaining 2 players if they want to leave instead of playing out a 2v4 game.

people would leave less matches if there were no game mode specific challenges. it’s such a horrible system. for example right now I have to grind big team battle for 3 stronghold matches. I don’t want to, but I feel I have to.

Game types are randomized because it’s a beta. The playlist choices will change after launch.

Leavers should absolutely be punished. You can’t just go around ruining everybody else’s game by purposely leaving them lopsided.

Afk scripts or rubber band controllers are another symptom of the same problems, the lack of game mode selection and the awful progression system. It needs to be more consistently rewarding to play the game like normal otherwise it’s just going to create players that will abuse the system by leaving games or creating an AFK script for maximum progress with minimum effort.

No, you should get banned unless you are playing 2v4. Quitters ruin halo.
343 should increase the ban time.

Nah. Bannings for poor sportsmanship in fun matches won’t be going anywhere. They’ve been in the game since Halo 2 and I’ve heard of only one instance where they did remove them, only to quickly revert that change right back.

Hell, people complained about them in MCC Collection for PC, only to have them increase the lengths people were banned for because people leaving matches were ruining so many games for people.

Until people start actually respecting more then just themselves in team oriented matches, don’t expect them to be going anywhere. It is the unfortunate truth of the matter.

I agree. Keep the ban IF we can choose which game mode to play. If they keep the challenges as is and won’t allow us to pick what game mode we want, then disable the ban for QUICK PLAY. Or better yet, FIX the challenge system. My guess is nothing changes for awhile.

The real problem is why can’t objective be separate from slayer modes?

Not banning players is not a solution for the challenge system, but instead creates a new problem: that it’s okay to leave a match because you don’t fancy the map/game type.
I understand the frustration for completing challenges and those will probably be worked on. Your solution however sacrifices the focus of players enjoying games to pursuing progression and that isn’t healthy.

Current ban system only activates after leaving your third game and I feel that’s quite generous.

When playing Ranked matches, then absolutely yes. Increase the ban time for quitting. I would also say to double the penalties for quitting in RANKED games. Maybe that would help reduce quitting
