I am also italian. I never had an english conversation in my whole life, and frankly, I am too shy to even try. Yeah, I just cannot speak english. I can write it very fast though.
Yes this is what I meant in my post - nothing against other languages at all but when youāre trying to play and have a language you donāt understand in your ear, itās very off putting.
I went to Sardinia and asked for the bill in italian and apparently called the waiter a cxxt instead. I never tried speaking Italian again
XEQoot where are youuuuu, one shot my x ONE SHOTTTTT
Are you 12?
Do you have freckles?
Stop screaming!
Iām 15 get it right kid
Then why even have a mic if I just plan to mute everyone anyways in ranked?
Plus why are you even playing ranked without a team? Solo/Duos sure, but even then I still mute everyone and never mic unless I am with a team.
Yeah. But also, I really do not want to be forced to speak another language just to play ranked. I know, looking at my posts, youād think that I should be able to, but boi, no! I always freeze in shyness. I am unable to utter even a simple 'āhiā.
I feel much more comfortable with just writing. I do that very fast, I do not even need Google Translate. My brain just thinks english.
Yeah I think I am disturbed. Thatās on me, probably. Oh also, I wrote all of this with my controller. Yep I am definitely disturbed lol.
Yeah I agree, you can use awareness instead and the āpingā. Can do a lot by reading what your team is doing.

There should definitely be an option to play with people just with mics. Just like having the option to play with people who use M&K.
No idea why they have never had that. Iām sure its easy to implement it.
Just turn on Spartan Chatter, 343i already had a solution for this! And to top it off, instead of hearing little kids and boomers talking, you hear the chatter of non-military dude bros! I hear after each match they feel each other biceps and cool down over a nice game of beer pong!
I have a team. Iām referring to solo duo where you canāt bring in a full four man.
10000000%
So sick of newbs coming in and not talking with their embarrassing cat ears
I think a better solution is to have matchmaking that includes mic preference as a parameter for finding teammates.
Iām all for mics in ranked, and I absolutely hate it when people play ranked without them. But just because someone has a mic doesnāt mean the information you get from them will be helpful, nor does it guarantee they will use it for the benefit of their team.
You would win more if you actively spoke with callouts. Thereās so much information your teammates are missing, that you could offer, that would be helpful for them in any given match.
Just no. If people are that desperate for teams that use mics than use something like groups to get people to hang out with. I shouldnāt be forced to listen to an annoying player that is most likely going to be either making offensive comments every 2 seconds or some annoying noise from their mic or blasting music through my game. All forcing mic is going to do is lead people to unplug their mics altogether and if they really want to talk to friends while doing this then they could just load up discord.
Even if this restriction would get imposed, it would still not guarantee any communications between the players. In addition to that, I would also view the restriction of having a mic to be unnecessary as it greatly limits player freedom for players without any mic and itās also not given that the players may have an interest to communicate with the teammates during the play sessions.
This is all going under the assumption that:
- he knows the callouts himself and can give them out in a timely and effective manner.
- His teammates know the callouts and their positions on the map relative to where they currently are.
- His teammates are within a reasonable range to actually get to said call-out or have the equipment to effectively fight from where they are
- His teammates are competent enough so that they just donāt mindlessly run to where the callout is and get themselves killed as well
Yes, communication can help, but it is not what decides games nor is it so vital that all players should be forced to communicate regardless of their map knowledge.
This goes double for ranks that are in the lower brackets where their biggest issue lies more with personal skill and not call-outs.
Yeah no thanks.
I have a mic but refuse to speak due to how childish some people are. Some people cant take losing and throw insults out while the vein in there head explodes.
The amount of times iv been named called and trashed talked even though Iām not the one holding the team back is unreal.
Last weekly forced me into ranked and I had some proper A holes being toxic towards me saying Iām bad, ViRgn (yes I spelled that weird so itās not yoink) and much worse while playing. Yet end game results show i played more objective than them but they just wanted someone else to blame.
Noā¦no itās not all going āunder the assumption thatā¦ā
First and foremost, I never assumed this person knew specific callouts. I simply said they would win more matches if they used callouts / conveyed information, which is true. Even if people arenāt using mics, one person speaking can make a difference.
Second, I never said that callouts or mics are what decide every game or not. You implied I said they were the deciding factor, which I never did. There are obviously tons of factors that go into winning a match of Halo, and getting better at any one factor will help people win more.
Third, while knowing specific callouts can help, people generally know via context what others are talking about. A āPitā on a map is generally a pit. āLong Hallā is pretty self explanatory. So is āMarketā. I do assume some level of competence amongst teammates in a competitive playlist such as ranked. And, the person Iām responding to said they take cues from teammates. So why wouldnāt they share info in return?
Fourth, even if you donāt know specific callouts, learn them. If you donāt want to learn them, at least try to describe whatās going on relative to what you see / what you are doing in game. But most people are going to learn these things when folks actively speak them, via context and by example (assuming they havenāt muted everyone).
And finally, I donāt agree with the original poster that mics should be forced. You assumed this about me. Please read my posts elsewhere in this thread.
Bottom line: what I was trying to say was good communication will help everyone win more games. I donāt think it should be forced, but I do get annoyed that people donāt use mics more in ranked, which is why I believe 343 should allow players to search for matches where teammates have a mic preference.
Simpleā¦Party up with friends. Oh, whatās that? You donāt have any?
Sounds like a YOU problem.
