Title basically says it all. You should be forced to have a mic in ranked. Xbox party chat should be blocked and the game should have to detect a mic in order to play ranked. Played seven matches and not one person on my team had a mic at all. Zero communication.
Edit: This is in reference to solo/duo. I have a full team for crossplay open.
Edit 2:
This is a solid idea and a feature I think would work. Less complaining about why you hate to talk and more ideas like this.
I do not want to listen to a freckley 12 year old screaming “where were you?” - literally the only call out they use when they die in a stupid position and blame their team.
I also do not want to listen to foreign languages in my headset.
I also do not want to listen to whoever these people are who sound like they are playing in the middle of a road - you know the ones where you can hear rush hour traffic and people being honked at.
The level of crazy on Halos lobbies just makes this idea unimaginable hell.
Edit: Not to mention the people who dribble in their mic and the dorito munchers
Yes and I do - well actually I just turn it off altogether now but what I’m saying is even if you force people to have a mic, you will not have any sense said down it.
Sounds like a invasion of personal privacy. You should not determine whether people wish to speak to you or not. Ranked may need communication but not forced upon others who would like to keep to themselves.
Older games like Call of Duty and Rainbow Six have forced this in the past and it’s worked fine. If people don’t want to communicate then they shouldn’t be playing ranked.
People have a right to play what they want to have fun. So what they don’t want to speak to you in a match? Maybe they don’t feel like talking or don’t like you. Its their choice not something you can throw a blanket fix on and call it a day.
Know what you mean. Im italian, my native language is italian. When im writing in this forum, i have another browser windows open with google translate.
So just imagine when im telling you “girati”, “la tua destra”
Okay let’s say they do that. How do you enforce people to actually talk or communicate through their mic? What to say I plug in a make and don’t talk or talk about something other than halo. Is there going to be a report system to ban people from ranked when they don’t talk or don’t stay on topic?
I don’t have an Xbox mic. I don’t talk to randoms when I play online games. I hate to say it to you but I’m one of those zero communicating people that you probably get in your matches.
I do try to ping things all the time. That’s the only way I communicate to randoms in matches. I think that helps a lot. They should add pinging to MCC and have a legacy disable option.
I think your solution would be to find a group to play with. If anything find many groups so that they’re more likely to be online when you’re playing
I’m sure somewhere on waypoint their a looking for group/clan recruiting forum. Also halo has an official discord. You would never go in alone if you find others for ranked
Then you shouldn’t be playing ranked. Communication is extremally important and ranked is a competitive playlist. If you’re not going to properly contribute to the team don’t play.
I have people to play with. But I’m trying to achieve Onyx in solo/duo as well. Having only two people communicating though isn’t always enough. Again ranked is all about team work. Talking is a must to be successful within the diamond and onyx ranks.
We can all be silent and awkward. But while you think your call outs may not be good a bad call out is better then none at all. It at least raises awareness.
For obnoxious teammates absolutely. The mute option should remain available. The point of forcing a mic is to incentivize. You’d be surprised at how many people would actually start talking. May not be all but it would increase the communication.
I mean it would be nice. I had a guy message me I was bad, and claimed I had Stolen Valor, but didn’t even bother to plug in his mic and communicate lol
I highly highly doubt anyone would enforce such a rule like this in any game.
They need to allow people to create a full party by themselves before queuing up instead. Which is the way people who want to win should actually be doing anyway. Not relying on an AI Matchmaker to pick their teammates for them.
I think what we really need is proximity chat, I need you to hear me belting out “FOUR!” as I run past your lifeless hologram just after giving you that sweet BR symphony.
