…so where are the future weapons?
Specifically, where is the incorporation of drone combat and information warfare that scifi writers of the past had no inkling was going to be our actual future weapons?
Heck.
Where is the MetalStorm weapon?

Wow.
When has this been such a big of a problem?
Besides Covenant and Promethean tech is advanced enough for us.
BALANCE > REALISM
How many times do we have to go over this.

What you replied doesn’t make sense.
The need for balance doesn’t prohibit actual future tech weapons being developed and used right now.
Railgun.

Not new to the franchise.
Or to sci-fi.

What exactly are you asking for OP?

Yes it does.
You’re telling me using something like drones, guns that shoot 1mil rps, and crap like that won’t break the balance of the game??? You’re out of your mind.

The Railgun is new.
Look at the Forerunner weaponry. It seems Sci-Fi enough to me. 343i cannot satisfy everybody.

And the concept of a gun that propells bullets via magnetic fields, and a laser doesn’t?
We are talking concepts here.
There is nothing about a concept that could break the balance of the game.

UNSC has been using the weapon since before the Covenant-Human War.
The only thing new is a man sized version of it. Before that the smallest scale we saw it was on a vehicle mount in H2.

Railgun is new to the franchise, and from your OP, I thought you were referring to realistic future weapons when you started mentioning drone strikes and what not.
More advanced than previous weapons is our future weapons. We have mech and sentinels are weapons as well. The Scarab is a beast. I don’t see a prob.
> Halo Community Motto: We always have to complain about something.
I got it tattooed across my chest.
Parallel universes.
It is odd, I mean we’re pretty close to things like that right now. The more realistic (And it’s almost painful using that word in this context) version of the future in terms of weapons would probably be Black ops 2. And ghost recon.
The scientists and engineers in halo seemed more interested in how badass a suit they could make. chalk it up to “somewhere down the line, we decided to make -Yoink- like the vulture instead of unmanned vehicles. because of overpopulation. totally.”
343 said that the only reason the humans have under powered weapons is to make you feel helpless against your alien opponents and to make it relatively easy for newcomers to get used to the cod/battlefield (unsc) type weapons quicker.
