Since the Betrayal/Boot system is completely screwed over by people who cant program. YOU need to learn the difference between accident betrayals and ones on purpose. Quit booting people that is totally clear it was an accident, be it a clustermug firefight in tight quarters or a long distance launch from a wraith, LEARN to know the difference.
And i can speak for everyone cause everyone here has been screwed by the betrayal system weather you get booted or team kill 6 times without an option to Boot. No one is immune.
For those who are mature enough to respect the game and the players in it, i welcome your disscusion. For those who want to troll and be immature i invite you to leave this post alone. I will not be reading the comments so dont try to troll. This is just so people who are mature and know how to read to be a little more intelligent and curteous to others and learnt the difference.
Thanks
I agree. In the last week, I’ve had about 5 boot menus come up and declined them all because I knew for a fact that they were accidental. But for those who actually killed me on purpose, I never once got a menu for the past few months.
I get one-2 griefers every 3 or 4 games in BigTeam and they are just annoying. You take a sniper, they kill you for it, same for rocket, tank, wraith, heck, I’ve been killed for taking a couple stickies once.
I understand your frustration, OP. In fact, I think you’re preaching to the choir.
Most of the people here come here because they care about the game and its community – because they’re the kind of person who gets frustrated at the kind of things you’re frustrated at, and who wants it to stop. The problem isn’t that people don’t know the difference between accidents and deliberate betrayals. The problem is that many of the people who play Reach don’t care about the game or its community, and by extension they don’t care whether or not a betrayal was accidental. They’ll boot and go along their way without even the slightest regard for their fellow gamers.
There are bad apples in every community, malicious users of every game or piece of software. Unfortunately, the only real way to stop them is for the developer to design the system against them. In this case, that would mean designing Betrayal Booting so that it is not exploitable. The problem comes from the fact that doing so is fairly complex.

I think this is what baffled Bungie and ultimately led to Halo’s population decline. Bungie had an overwhelming number of players playing, and a very small percentage voicing their opinions on the internets and they just didn’t know who to listen to; the people who take the time of day to offer constructive, well thought out criticism or what they perceive that the exponentially larger, silent population wants? Its a tough choice between guesswork and new ideas to spelled out concepts and opinions and fine tuning not so new ideas. People almost always want something, but they don’t always want what they need. What do they need? Fun, solid, rewarding gameplay. What do they want? New, cool, flashy, blockbuster, “sweet dude theres a turret laser sniper blastergun that just dropped out of the chopper that got taken down by the dragon that ATE ALL THE NINJAS” gameplay.

I will boot every teammate that betrays me because of idiotic “accidents”.
The worst offender being team mates lobing grendades into a CQC fight, killing you and the other guy, and so achieving nothing. Boot boot boot.
I will also boot someone for firing random wraith shots across the map. Why should I get punished because they lack the skill to use the wraith effectivly, and so hang back?
