If you feel like the matches are not meeting player expactations you may consider adding matchmaking options or region selection? Newsflash 343, it’s not meeting player expectations by the simple fact that a region selection IS what players expect. This is a AAA game released in 2021, it is now 2022, how is region selection not considered a basic feature?
MCC has region selection in the form of server selection. MCC is six games in one, six different netcodes for six different online experiences and it has had server selection since 2020. Did you just happen to lose all the people who knew how to implement region selection in this one year? Or are the priorities of the multiplayer team so messed up that the game being an enjoyable experience for people outside of the US not a priority?
Feels like they’re doubling down on restricting matchmaking accessibility because a lot of people have dropped the game & the population has plummeted as a result, their response to crossplay toggle annoyed me.
If they allow crossplay to be turned off, the game will die even more outside the USA. My friend on pc from eu has to play on usa servers way too many times already…
Definitely need that sorta thing other games do where it first searches in your chosen regions, then expands if you can’t match. So many games do this already, why can’t Halo?
I started playing black ops cold war recently and despite the annoying skill based matchmaking, i have never seen more than 35ms ping in literally every match i played.
Halo has skill based matchmaking too but it thinks it’s ok to frequently put me in unwinnable matches where every enemy has a latency advantage, especially after 7-8pm
The be fair, the netcode sucks on 30 ms as well on 150. In fact, I rather play as EU player on US server because you can destroy the other players with such ease…
30 ms games are mostly a pain due to desync so at this point, i don’t even cate on which server I play.
Complete tone deafness. They have even patted them selves on the back for fixing the issues Aussies face even though there is numerous posts on here from users stating the opposite.
It’s nice to get confirmation that this is as good as it gets. I can finally stop checking in here to see if it’s worth playing again.
At least they admitted with a server selection/cross play toggle you probably wouldn’t find a match. Shows how many of those fabled 20 million users stuck around.
