Where you play as MC (Obviously).
But get this…
The game lets us go to an actual Halo installation!!!
WOW THAT’S AMAZING!!!
But seriously though, it been what? 8 years since we’ve set foot on one of the rings?
That’s an awful large amount of time we’ve spent deprived of these majestic entities and personally, I really need to visit one again. I mean, yeah you could go back and play through the old campaigns. But I really want to step onto a new one, like Installation 03 for example. If they took us back to one of the rings it could open up major plots such as the flood returning into the series. Just imagine trying to fight off the flood as well as the Guardians and Cortana. Or maybe even Cortana and the other AI’s diverting their attention from policing each system and going to war against the flood. -Yoink-, imagine a flood-controlled Guardian? There are so many possibilities that could be explored if we set foot on one of the Halos. I mean the they’re the game’s very namesake for crying out loud.
Before I get grief however, I do understand that 343 have something big for the series and I have a lot of faith in them to provide a great gaming experience. But I strongly believe that it could be further enhanced for us by setting our boots back on one of the rings.
Please comment any feedback you may have or even if you have a counter argument on the matter. Whatever you want really.
Halo 5’s legendary ending shows a Halo ring, so I’m 99% sure that’s were we’re going in Halo 6.
I believe the flood are the only real threat to cortana. They don’t need technology as much as other races and if a gravemind is formed it could corrupt some of the AIs and guardians.
I think halo 5 was the bridge to a new start to bringing the old halo back.

This. I’m guessing within about 3 years or so you’ll get your wish, OP.
Anyone else notice that each main numbered Halo game actually has less and less Halos in them.
Halo CE: only one mission is not on ring
Halo 2: like half of the missions are on ring
Halo 3: only one mission on ring
Halo 4: ring is part of background for only one mission
Halo 5: only in legendary ending

Yup. Flood is Cortana’s main threat. They don’t have AIs, and the Gravemind can corrupt any AI (Kinda how he jump started Cortana’s rampancy) But I’m 90% sure we will have a Halo ring in H6.

Does Spartan Strike count? You get to fight on Installation 03 for a few missions.

Sadly it wouldn’t work on the Promethean forms the reason they’re digitized life forms was to combat Flood infection. Though what would be good would be if the creators of the Flood showed up. I’m sure I read somewhere a few years back that there were hints that were created by beings beyond known space.

I sure -Yoinking!- hope so. My money is ready and waiting to be taken away in exchange for an original trilogy-style Halo game. I’ll pay $59.99 for the game and $59.99 for the DLC. Just quit making these “modernized” pieces of -Yoink-.
I love this Idea, it will really open up the gameplay, and it will create a lot of new paths that we can go during the gameplay. It would also start to develope the lore of the game series and make it that much more in depth, and better.
