You would’ve expected this game to play like Halo and not COD. Now we get perks/killstreaks/instant respawn. This game feels like a beta right now, and everyone saying oh give them some time. Why should I give them time? I paid for a complete product, not a game with a ton of flaws and or things a ton of people didn’t want.
It’s a joke they didn’t have a ranking system ready for launch as well. Hmmm it was managable in the past on Halo 2 and Halo 3, but apparently in the future with increased technological advances it is not possible.

I come from developing experience. Some bugs cannot be found by themselves. Some, unfortunately, require further testing by users. Plus this game isn’t in a beta. There’s a difference between balance issues and issues dealing with the game itself (loadouts randomly resetting, challenges being reset, ect…).
I think the perfect fix for the boltshot would be…
Have the charged shot be as strong as the H3 mauler, so its not stronger than a scattershot close up, and you can’t 1 shot people with your secondary. You would have to finish with a headshot or a melee to finish the kill.
Edit: As for the active camo, not only charging the Boltshot, and PP, but people can shoot across the map with their DMR and stay invisible while they shoot. Pretty -Yoinking!- stupid if you ask me. Great design choice! Probably working as intended.
I laugh at your false sense of pride. Granted, I don’t camp in a corner, I move around albeit a little slowly. It’s more fun to me to be stealthy and tactically intelligent rather than charge into every situation with reckless abandon. That is the great part about these games, everyone is using different strategies, if everyone did the same thing, that wouldn’t be entertaining. The bolt shot may be a bit overpowered, but everyone can use it, and there are ways around it. Your time might be better spent trying to find a way to fight it than try and get it changed. Lol, but hypocritically I don’t use the bolt shot because its inconsistent. As for Active Camouflage, its the most fun armor ability to use, and DEFINITELY doesn’t make you unbeatable.
Apparently I break the mold. I only use camo at long range so I can always get in a shot or two on a target at range and I only really keep the boltshot on maps without many vehicles because swapping to it and letting loose a half charge shot can surprise people pretty badly.
Yes, you should not be able to stealth charge the boltshot. That I am in perfect agreement over.
The Boltshot really doesn’t need any more work though. Its range is so short that its one hit kill factor only matters to people who like to get close.
This game does not play like CoD. Perks do nearly nothing and the loadouts aren’t custom, because everybody’s looks the same. It’s DMR+Boltshot or you lose. And CoD doesn’t have “armor abilities” either. You need to play the game before judging it >.>
It feels like super smash bros in shooter form, random and explosive. It’s less competitive but who gives a damn? It’s fun sometimes! And if you complain about the boltshot then you must not be using it yourself… which just means you suck.
If you can choose between a good and a bad weapon, then take the good weapon, I mean holy **** is it that hard to play smart?
Only 4 big issues. Random and explosive, reduced custom game options, and lack of detail/playlists. By detail I mean like the ghost firing perfectly even when its on fire, that’s all.
Then those big issues get crippled further with small issues like lag and lack of weapon balance. The light rifle is good in campaign but any multiplayer lag makes it impossible to get headshots so its just a weak BR, or a slow DMR. It’s weaker in all respects which is unbalanced… Still pretty easy to blast people 5 times in the gut from a long distance though.
Boltshot is NOT OP.
Camo is NOT OP.
Boltshot+Camo might be OP.
I hate camo shotgun users too but I’ve yet to see someone do that with a boltshot.
A great solution is to stick them. If they DO kill you, that’s an automatic 20 points (plasma kill+from the grave+revenge). 25 if they’re on a spree. I love the new point system.
Oh good you agree with me! Too bad for the lightrifle… I dunno all the guns have their uses, some are just better. I actually prefer the suppressor for it’s close range dominance and machine gun feel, so I don’t usually use the boltshot to be honest. When I do, point blank shots fail to kill sometimes… lag sure does suck.

You realize that the context in which you used that word makes absolutely no sense right? No? Well I awouldn’t expect as much from someone who runs around with a boltshot.**
Thankyou for looking stupid. Do you know nothing about programing? It takes far longer than 30 seconds to code something. I know 2 scripting languages so I actually understand some things about this and the fact that the problems can not be fixed in 10 minutes or 30 minutes. Please think about what you post next time.

It’s DMR+whatever or you lose. Boltshot’s situational utility is completely irrelevant compared to how constantly the DMR will net you kills. Boltshot is certainly not required for success.

> Secondly, everything about the new loadouts are shamelessly inspired/ripped straight from the Call of Duty infrastructure. Giving them a new name, in this case “Armor abilities”, doesn’t make it a new feature. Sorry.

They give us NEW toys and all you do is complain? Wow…I hope 343i keeps trying out new stuff.
I don´t wanna be stuck with Halo 2 or Halo 3 ideas.
I wanna see more cool things like bol shot and promethean vision

Well, 343 is targeting casual players who don’t care one little bit about competitive play (like yourself), so you’ve got nothing to worry about.
