You know what bothers me about the armor coatings?

TLDR: I hate the hexagon thing used to show the color scheme.

besides the obvious that everyone already agreed on, there’s not enough of them in the game to warrant them even existing. You’d think 343 would be handing them out like candy in the battle passes to be like “See? Isn’t this more fun than making your own?” But what the fudge? They make you go through hoops to get them with challenges or buying a real product that’s like 60 bucks that you don’t care about, just so you can get an exclusive coating and wow i am on a tangent.

Here’s the real thing that bothers me. The hexagon thing they use to indicate where the colors go on the armor. That thing does not help, and it’s inconsistent. For starters… the starter colors you get all have identical hexagons, but if you look closely, some have greys in different spots. Like… why? Why did you feel the need to do that? You had to have manually set it up, so one color has some grey on the cheeks or belt, while the other’s don’t. Anyway i just wanted to point that out.

They designed it this way. Just so you feel the FOMO and buy credits to use in the shop.

You know, it would’ve been a better decision to just make it so we could paint individual armor pieces (say, right shoulder, left shoulder, chest, helmet, right arm, left arm, left leg, right leg, crotch piece). This would’ve made the customization promise a lot more accurate.

I’m under the assumption that -Yoink!- forced the store/F2P model in

It’s definitely a case of trying to make the coating look cool but sacrificing utility. Even the shades are misleading (I’m thinking of HCS coating that looks black but is actually a dark olive).
