People keep saying that “Oh we never actually saw Noble Six die! Maybe he will return?!” No. He is dead and thats final, the only way he will return is in a prequel, flashback or some form of reference. However a character that I think actually has to potential to come back is James-005, the last we saw of him was on August 30th 2552 the final day of the Fall of Reach where his T-pack was ruptured, he lost all control and drifted into space. When the PoA did a scan for him they turned up nothing.
Now I feel that James-005 and Jun-A266 are the two most likely candidates to ever return, what are your thoughts on this?
> or it is possible that he was picked up by another ship. we may never know.
I don’t think the UNSC would withold the fact that James was still alive from the Spartans especially if said ship was a normal UNSC ship commanded by a standard UNSC captain. O.N.I also would not need James unless it was for something like special training of new Spartans in which they already had Kurt for that.

Well, Kurt was “abducted” by Ackerson to head the Spartan III program. They just wanted a trained candidate.
Otherwise, I agree. Spartans are morale boosters. Finding one means letting the public know they still have a chance. In Glasslands, they wait well over 3 months to finally declare Master Chief missing/dead after the events of Halo 3 even though they don’t know about his whearabouts. They list Halsey as dead too but they wind up getting her off Onyx and more or less “holding” her indefinitely. Parangosky drove the nail in that coffin personally.
Well, I don’t know if you’re referring to my comment in another thread about never seeing Noble Six dying, I was just using that as an example of how 343 could bring a character back into the fiction.
I didn’t really think Noble Six survived Reach. That was the whole point of the game.

Or maybe we just haven’t heard anything about him yet. The only way we can know these people are dead is that we have been told they died, which we have not, or we have seen them die, again haven’t seen it. They both could have been recruited in the the s-IV program or could have been assigned to some area of this universe that we haven’t seen yet. Until 343 tells me their dead I am going to go with the possibility that they are still out there somewhere
> I am sure James is dead. His suit would not be able to produce oxygen and the pressure would kill him.
No his suit was never punctured and they have a hard vacuum rating of something like 3 hours, so as long as no covie ships used him for sighting drills he could have survived
I’ve always wondered about James, a genuine MIA Spartan. I’d like for him to return as he for the most part is a blank canvas to base a storyline upon. Maybe we’d find out if he got a flash-cloned arm or a robotic arm replacement like Kat.

ONI works in mysterious ways, who knows what they’re up to.
It’s is possible Jun survived as he was last seen escorting Dr. Cathrine Hasley to ONI’s CASTLE Base, who later arrived at the shield world Onyx with surviving Spartan - II’s, including Kelly - a Spartan that trained closely with John 117, and members of the Gamma Company, Spartan-III’s. It’s never listed whether he died or not.

Most contradictory post of the day award has just been awarded. o_O
How can Jun have survived if:
A) The Autumn was the last exfiltration craft left on the planet?
B) Jun was not with Halsey at CASTLE Base when Red Team found her?
C) Jun was not picked up when John arrived back at Reach in the Ascendant Justice?
He died, Frankie said that 343 have no interest in picking up his storyline, there’s nothing more to tell about him. Reach was about the deaths of Noble Team, Jun isn’t any different, his purpose in the story is fulfilled and so he is dead.
Im not sure how likely James and Jun are… but in Glasslands (So I’ve heard… haven’t read it yet) the survivng Spartan IIIs and IIs from Onyx have been found. And we’ve still got team Black (From Cole Protocol, I think… haven’t read that in a while) which is made up of 3 Spartans, and the 3 Spartans that are stranded with the Spirit of Fire (We never found out what their fate was either). So, there are quite a few Spartans that are indeed MIA.
But, as ONI (343) likes to keep it… Jun and James are Missing In Action. Along with the other Spartans I listed.
> And we’ve still got team Black (From Cole Protocol, I think… haven’t read that in a while) which is made up of 3 Spartans
Black Team were the SPARTAN-II’s from Naval Intelligence that became stranded on Line-Installation 1-4 in Summer 2552. At the same time, Gray Team was the unit unable to be recalled back to Reach for Operation RED FLAG as they had been out of contact for quite some time.

Oh, must have gotten them mixed up. Then I was talking about Gray Team, who we have lost contact with.
> There’s (hopefully) a pretty good chance we could see Red Team and the SOF again as well.
Hopefully, I want that story arc to be tied up at some point, and, fortunately, 343 do seem to be willing to do so. I suppose after all that time though, Serina would be well and truly rampant.
