The more I find it to be extremely effective, I now actually have more kills with it than the DMR, and now have a little more trouble in closer ranges with the DMR because I am so used to the BR. I am fully aware that the DMR is an easier weapon to use, but I think I actually give the BR a slight edge (if you are good with it) in closer ranges now.
Point is I am now in a slight doubt about the DMR ‘Nerf’ because as is I find myself winning most 1v1’s even if they have the DMR.
Any other BR users kind of get what I mean?
No.
If I use the BR against a similar player with the DMR I find myself getting murdered again and again without being able to kill them.
I don’t get my required shots off before they kill me, and neither of us miss (most of the time.
I’ve preowned plenty with every other precision weapon against the designated marksman rifle . It’s all about accuracy within the physics of the game and weapon . The battle rifle is a classic killer , nothing less .

Sorry to say, but based on the almost identical kill time, that can’t be true if you are both hitting your shots.
The BR is a great clean up weapon, it also goes great with a well placed grenade, better than the DMR in fact.
Ive noticed it really depends on what map you play on. If you use a battle rifle on ragnarok, meltdown, or any open maps you’re begging to get killed, But if you use a battle rifle on smaller maps like adrift or haven you can have the upper hand over people with the dmr. Thats not to say the dmr cant still kill you, but you have a better chance against DMR users if you use a battle rifle on smaller maps.
It took me only 3 games of matchmaking on launch night to figure out that each map favors different rifles, yet you’ll still find people running out in the open maps with battle rifles because they’re fanboys who refuse to use the DMR. Its sad really.
For me it’s the complete opposite. I have started using the DMR and I now realize how bad the BR is. It’s not because of the dmrs faster kill time, aim assist, etc. it just that the BR’s spread is ridiculous and it feels too random. I feel as if the light rifle is a better replacement since is bullet spread is a little more tight and its like a DMR when scoped.
Yes bro I just can’t use the dmr like I use to lol. Now, I just love my br.
“Sorry to say, but based on the almost identical kill time, that can’t be true if you are both hitting your shots”.
…
The DMR kills noticeably quicker and it means that a slight ambush on a DMR player means very little to a BR user.
If you use the DMR and you ambush a BR user, you have so much leeway it’s actually amazing.
“Thats not to say the dmr cant still kill you, but you have a better chance against DMR users if you use a battle rifle on smaller maps”.
You have a better chance against those DMR users with a DMR of your own than a BR…
“The BR is a great clean up weapon, it also goes great with a well placed grenade, better than the DMR in fact”.
The difference between the two is negligible at best.
Yes I know what you mean. I was on 4/7 of the BR before I even picked up a DMR. When I did pick up the DMR I hated it, I couldn’t use it at close range I just wasn’t good with it. I eventually tried the DMR again and found a use for it in a long range loadout and it eventually became my mosted used weapon. I was actually doing better before I used the DMR than I currently am.
Stat wise the DMR should not be nerf, it’s suppose to be the hardest to use but faster kill time. Problem for people is it’s aim assist and magnetism make it easier to use. It doesn’t have much magnetism for me but I have seen people land shots they should have missed.
I hate everything about the DMR. I get 5 shot by DMR’s constantly. As soon as I play against a team full of DMR users I know every death will take about 2 seconds max. It’s OP in nearly any decent players hands. Any situation I’ve ever lost by 1 shot while using the BR would have more than likely been won with the DMR. I just want a chance with the BR, Carbine, or LR.

That’s just not true.
While the DMR IS better than the BR, (faster kill time/longer range/same amount of aim assist), the BR is still a good weapon. Its spread means you can be sloppier with it and still hit your opponents, versus the DMR. I still wouldn’t use it outside Adrift, or the Majestic maps, though.
It’s also better than the DMR in SWAT.
That’s awesome, man. I found out when I use a weapon long enough and use another weapon, that weapon seems better just because it is different than what you are used to. . At least that’s how it was for me.
When I use the BR I find it to be inconsistent. By inconsistent I mean that some times it takes four shots to get a kill and other times it takes five.
I totally agree. I don’t have a problem using the BR, and I like it a lot better than the DMR. I still have the DMR in a long range loadout but I don’t really play BTB anymore.

I completely get what you mean.
The BR is my favorite and most used weapon in the game. I use the DMR a lot in big team or bigger maps in none btb like Complex but most of the time I rock the BR. I actually do better with it in short to mid range than I do with the DMR. I find sometimes I’ll be using the DMR and just doing ok switch to the BR and go on Running Riots killing people with DMRs easily. For this reason I have no idea why people talk about nerfing it. It is great for long range shootouts but can be used well in short to mid range as well. It’s all preference.

I have used the BR over the DMR in around two months now
BR ftw
I don’t have that experience with the BR, but I do notice how I’m growing more and more accustomed to using the Light Rifle for instance. Sure: the DMR still is stronger and wins most of the time, but when you use the LR the right way the might of the DMR is reduced greatly.
As for the BR: I dislike it more and more. Well, apart from in SWAT. But in Team Throwdown I really don’t like it that much. Reminds me of why I never liked the BR I guess…
I have to agree the more i use it the better the BR is getting. Not scoping is helping alot and plus i just seem to have better luck with it.
To me there is a simple way to fix the BR and the DMR. The Br is a close to mid range weapon where as the DMR is a marksmen meant for distance. To me its a simple fix, make it so when your with in a certain distance with the DMR make it so the gun’s reticle is smaller therefore hard to land shots, there fore your not nerfing power, and makes the Br a little better since it’s reticle stays the same.
Also considering that with in range the Br is a 3 shot burst so when it’s in its range it should be deadly and alot easier to get a kill then the DMR.
Really? The more I use the BR the more I realize how much of a piece of crap it is. The Carbine might be a smidge underpowered, but it is at least consistent. The DMR is good, the auto weapons are all good within their niche against any of the headshot weapons, and the LR is great.
The LR has all the advantages of the BR and then some. Only one of the drawbacks(a slower unscoped rof). The LR(unscoped) is everything the BR should be. Remove the BR’s random spread and that alone with make it much much better.
