Ok really. I dont think MLG should be taken out, but FFS. Why would you take out Action Sack and Anniversary BTB but keep MLG?
Lets see
Action Sack: A fun wide variety of games with more casual type behavior and purpose. Pretty insane sometimes, but works, Fun as well.
MLG: Just Slayer with more DMR/Rifles and no AA’s (or less)
So how does keeping MLG add any variety or taste to Halo Reach? I can’t see, I can’t face it, I can’t understand what type of idea 343 was trying…
Also why take out A.BTB? You keep the general playlist, But why not keep BTB?
Can someone please tell me I’m just insane? Or perhaps I am right and 343 just screwed Halo Reach badly.

As much as I’d like to say you’re wrong, I do see this update as more of a downgrade than anything else at this point.
Downgrade is a SERIOUS understatment!
343 screwed Reach up with the TU, now they screw it up even more with this crap!
WHY DID YOU SCREW OUR GAME UP 343?

Because Vanilla is still in the game.
They’re trying to cut back playlists anyways, this will be prevalent when Halo 4 comes out as well. Compact the playlists to find better paired matches.
And don’t worry, if Halo 4 doesn’t get a spectator mode or ranks, the competitive scene will be pretty rocky for Halo 4. There may or may not be an MLG playlist in Halo 4…so they’ll either be playing CoD competitively or they’ll be kicking ur butts in the regular playlists;)

I wouldn’t say it was an understatement at all.
Reach was trash when it was released and it’ll still be trash when Halo 4 comes out. I prefer Reach with the TU over Vanilla. I don’t care about them removing the playlists in the slightest. I just want to be able to use the DLC Maps I’ve payed for.
I mean seriously, 343 has a tendency to do this. First goes the Noble Map Pack, then Defiant, then they both come back in a way thats barely the same as what it was, and now Anniversary Big Team? The best playlist in Anniversary? No. 343, you can’t just expect us to be playing the DLC 24/7 in custom games and forge. From me and any other person who has bought the DLC, PLEASE put Anniversary Big Team back in.
After seeing the new playlists, I was outraged. What on earth were they thinking by taking out playlists?! Anniversary BTB was tons of fun. Action Sack provided a good change of pace when you’re bored of the regular games. Whenever you remove playlists, there’s always gonna be people pissed off cause they liked them. So why would 343i take out any playlists?!
I know how you feel since was just about to play btb, didn’t notice that they took it off since was grinding the stupid multi kills weekly challenge, wanted a break, get back into btb, all I saw was big team which I tend to avoid because all they post is terrible forge maps. Seriously I have no idea what 343i were thinking when they pulled that stunt on us.
The August playlist consolidation was needed and was indeed predicted, but the execution could have been better. I’ll give you Anniv. BTB, since it did have a decent population, more than FFA, and Anniversary should have at least one extra MM playlist. I personally would have thrown out Anniv. FF rather than BTB, although I have a personal bias for FFA and I hated the TU/Anniversary gametype split in those playlists.
I would vouch for keeping the MLG playlist as it is the exclusive ZB playlist, as well as having the most competitive settings in the game. Without the randomness of bloom, AAs and map/gametype imbalance, MLG would be the best playlist except for the fact that randoms match a party of four, which leads to quitting and unfair matches.
I personally didn’t like Reach’s Action Sack much, the gametypes didn’t appeal to me. While I did like Splockets, Shotty Snipers, Boom Ball, and Haloball, I absolutely dreaded Hockey, games always went the full ten minutes for me and scoring was just ridiculous. If it had some of the gametypes from Halo 3, I would probably have played it more but the population in that was also dismal.
I think Co-op Campaign and Super Slayer should have been cut, since those have low populations and SS wasn’t even asked for. Squad Slayer was a little better, but at this point it may not help much if it was reinstated.
The Squad DLC playlist just didn’t have a good population, even with a warning that if the population didn’t improve it would go away. Imposing DLC requirments on a few playlists and emphasizing the DLC would be a better approach. Noble/Defiant maps were mostly large so imposing DLC req on BTB could be an option.

No it wasn’t, no.
Why? because people bought a fair amount bought halo cea, know the people who have cea can only play 2 playlists, now anyone that wants to avoid the stupid forge maps are forced to play nothing but them because 343i made 3 billion random crappy forge maps instead of real maps we blooming PAID for, if you hadn’t guessed I’m really frustrated with what 343i did.

The community made Forge maps, not 343.

Not completly true. 343i also known as past Bungie employee’s have made a fair amount of ‘forge maps’, the community has made a fair amount too but a large amount of people are sick, tired of the spammed maps.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t there less than 5 Bungie employees working at 343? Some of which moved when Reach was in mid development?

I’m not really sure on the numbers but it doesn’t change the fact that people were ignored. They need to make a dlc playlist because many of us are sick of forge only maps.

MLG was left in because there are only 2 competitive playlists in this game…Arena and MLG. Arena flat out sucks and is broken, making MLG the only viable list for competitive players.
Casual players aren’t the only demographic they need to worry about, and looking at the other playlists they’re catering to you more, so let competitive players keep MLG, it is really all they have left.
I don’t think any of these last changes should have been made to be quite honest, but there is in fact reason for MLG to be there.

We’ve a DLC playlist for seven months before it was removed. It had a shockingly low population.

Exactly arena was crap. I have had the game since release, barely ever play it, instead of removing that keeping btb we get all the decent removed while the dlc players gets ignored, removed randomly.

Not nealry as low as their -Yoinking!- stupid TU Playlists…
Those playlist needed to be yanked, not the slaughter that is the August Update.
Seriously, the TU playlists regularly dwell in the double digits for a population, but they’re going to try to claim that they’re more popular than Anniv. BTB? Or even Action Sack?
This update is an -Yoink!- of decision making. Nothing more.
