It’s been asked again and again. Why, if you can now play all of the original Halo games, do you want Halo 5 to be so much like them?
You have Halo 2, the masterpiece, the Halo that every knows and loves, so stop trying to tear down a new game from it’s new studio because it isn’t what you played back when you didn’t even know what the female reproductive system looked like.
They aren’t bloating this game with useless or OP crap like in H4, everyone spawns in with the same exact opportunity as the guy next to him. That’s Halo.
No jetpacks ruining map control, no Armor Lock slowing the game down like a snail through a salt factory, no buffed explosive damage, perks, or loadouts.
I get that we’re all worried about Halo after the perfect sh**storm 4 was, but give it a chance.
Grazie.
Why do you, and other cheerleaders for 343, always cite Halo 2 when chastising people who have criticism for H5?
For example, I despise H2 (and pretty much every Halo after CE), but have legitimate concern’s about H5.

Its what I see the most. And I’m a cheerleader? I just said how much I hated 4. Many times.
Lol no we don’t. We have one (UNRANKED) Halo 2 classic playlist on a game that hardly even works.
They ARE bloating the game with useless and OP crap. Example: Sprint still exists and the ROFLrifle (AR) shreds at medium range.
The beta exists specifically so we CAN tear down this new game and make it better than our expectations.

Sprint bloats the game? Compared to 4, this game is anorexic.
And yeah, we get that the dumb c**** at 343 decided to shell out a barely limping along half dead game, but they’ll fix it way before H5 hits.

No, we just have sprint ruining it now.

HMCC works fine right now and you can play Halo 2 in 5 playlists.

How? Because people can move faster at the cost of no shield regen and no weapon ready to make swiss cheese, that ruins map control? Because someone can blindly assault my power position, map control is dead. That doesn’t make sense to me.

I still get 2v4 and 4v6 games, and I still get games that crash. Halo 2 has one concentrated playlist, and all but H2A are unranked playlists (which I find either horribly boring or absolutely infuriating to play). Even if they had ranks, ranks aren’t doing anything ATM.
MCC has a long way to go before it could even be considered an option for people who don’t like Halo’s direction.

Sprint bloats maps and allows a cheap escape option. I can’t count how many times after watching streams I saw thruster+sprint+wait till shields recharge when somebody bites off more than they can chew. There’s literally no reason to include it at this point.
It looks to me that Halo 5 will take a lot less fixing than Halo 4, but it’s not perfect. We shouldn’t discourage criticism.

My definition of “bloats” is clearly different, when I say “bloat” I mean too many useless thing in the game. Not size of something physically.
Some people have made good suggestions, like try during the beta to up player movement up to 1.25 and remove sprint for a week. That would also mean shoulder charge would be a button press, or would just be removed. Either of which are ok, because I’ve never seen it used yet.
People shouldn’t be figuring out H5G map control easily in two days. Ideally Map control wouldn’t exist in the typical by the numbers fashion, turning the opposition into fish in a barrel while spawn trapping should be vastly more difficult than it seems to be now a days. From what I’ve seen when a team sticks together they don’t have to pin in the other team to win. Maybe I just prefer the less ruthless type of map control…
