Allow me to describe my final match played until there are major improvements made to the MP.
We were clinching an Oddball game in Ranked Crossplay. Even though we were dying around corners and the opposing team was spinning their heads off in aimbot 360’s, we made some solid cover and defense choices and came out on top for the first round.
Second round, I get a networking hiccup and my player moves forward 3 steps on its own. OK. I’m hardwired on gigabit fiber so I know it’s not me. Next I start dying from melee’s one second after they die. Like I get the confirmed kill, then I get popped out of thin air and it marks a melee for the guy I just killed. OK. Feeling the desync. They start winning because somehow the 50/50s keep going their way. Then we pick a great spot up in the corner and start rallying. It’s going great.
But then I get backsmacked, and on respawn I disconnect. I should be able to rejoin my ranked match though, right? It should work like literally any other competitive online game where I can rejoin, right?? No. I join my buddy’s fireteam, I click join, and it sits there waiting for my own match to finish before it will let me join another one.
This MP is a joke for competitive play. It’s a nice little free romp with friends, but with the gated content and lack of maps, that gets old quickly too. What a shame. I was all in since Tech Preview and finally realized that you just can’t take the MP seriously at all. I’m gonna go give Splitgate a shot. I hear great things. Thanks 343.
