You Currently Get less Experience From Playing games after the Progression Update

I am with you.

I play for fun, I bought the premium battle pass. The weekly challanges, I have some that is with a banshee and a wraith, I had player 20+ games and no banshee nor wraits appear. I had to use the swaps for chaning these challanges.

I believe that one person would play a day 4-6 games a day with a schedule.

I am a father, worker and a husband. I get to play at night and thanks to my baby I play until I get Practice makes perfection 8. But in a normal schedule I get to be in 2-4.

Is slow, and tedious looking at your battle pass going so slow and you play and play and play and play and it just don’t feel like its moving.

They need to improve the way to level up the battle pass, and make a rotation of the battle pass every two month.

Also I you get to be lv. 100 in the battle pass, it would be nice you get something additional once you reach the cap so you can redeem that extra for additional customizable items for your AIs, spartans, vehicles or weapons.

Day 3 for me and honestly… I’ll get the game for the campaign. Destiny 2 has an anniversary thing coming up and I’ll just play that rather than Halo Infinite MP. This isn’t a Halo game for me. Feels a lot more like an arcade game…

And to add insult to injury, they still didn’t change the ridiculously conditional Challenges.

Get a kill with a Shade Turret, goodluck getting Deadlock
Get a kill with Wasp, guess you gotta BTB and gotta camp that Wasp now
Get a kill with a Mangler, but hey the Fragmentation you spawned in doesn’t have the Mangler but a Stalker instead, have fun!

343 stop your nonsense just give us MCC Progression :
Default Match complete : 100xp

But it’s on microsoft for forcing 343 to add monetization. lord knows the crunch going on behind the scenes and how much the higher ups don’t give a flying grunt about the final product, as long as it makes money

Really now, have you seen Destiny 2 recently? It was always said that Activision being the publisher was the reason the content was so sparse and everything was thrown into the cash shop. Guess what, even two years after Activision left, Bungie is still doing those processes. Even if Microsoft wasn’t pressuring 343 into it we would probably still have seen some version of this system.

My original point though was that regardless of the reason for its creation 343 industries is the company responsible for its quality and how the community reacts to it. If there is a major issue amongst the community it’s 343’s job to find a method that isn’t as terrible.

aight, that’s fair enough. i see your point. honestly it’s kinda saddening if that is so… but it makes sense. they tested the waters of a BP in MCC, and we were somewhat accepting of it. and low and behold a BP appears in a mainline Halo game, and it’s worse than Halo 5 in terms of scummy. A shame that people are rewarding microsoft/343 for this nonsense

The one in MCC wasn’t that bad because of the sheer number of options in it. Compare the first seasons for example. Both are centered around Reach, but the one in Infinite has about 85 items TOTAL including coatings, armor kits, and Mark VII exclusive armor, whereas the one in MCC had every original Halo Reach cosmetic totalling over 150 armor items in 100 levels plus other cosmetics on top of that.

343 is going to have a lot of explaining to do once that number difference starts to actually sink in and people realize how much they are being screwed over compared to MCC.

I get why people are upset and frustrated but remember this battlepass has to last until May…

They’ve at least made the weekly challenges a bit quicker to obtain.

For me personally the weekly challenges at least get me to try new weapons etc that I may usually ignore. I know a lot of people don’t like that aspect because the game forces them to change their play style but a positive of the system is that people will hopefully become more well rounded players and experience more of the sandbox if they’re forced to use weapons that they otherwise wouldn’t.

i mean i get it this is a free to play thing… witch sucks in a way that halo is turning into this type of thing. but ok ill move past it. i got the pass cause why not i love halo even though the past few years have been very bad for it (excluding the more recent fixes too MCC’s battlepass Sort of) . .how do you not earn “xp” for how well you play? only challenges? so now i payed 10 bucks for stuff ill never earn, there is not enough time in the day to make it too the last tier of the thing, let alone Halfway by the end of the current one. i just now got the first tier and ive played at least 10-12 games… wth, im just disappointed… as the topic of this thread says after the first progression “fix”? if thats what we are calling it. its somehow worse… dear god please change this, its like MCC all over again, If it feels like there is no reward for playing. people will not play.

Practice makes perfection 10 was play any 4 PvP matches for 150xp and 11 and 12 were both play any 5 PvP matches for 150xp according to halopedia.

It’s only been reduced because there are no longer levels. For example one of the 150 was you had to complete 3 or 4 matches before you got the exp. They have changed it so you gain 50 for every match played So now when you have play 4 you get 200 exp. Which is 50 more then you are getting how ever I still thing they need to increase the exp gains from 50 to 100 they also need to get rid of these hard challenges. For example my friend has a challenge to kill 3 banshees since launch of the beta we have not seen a single banshee take flight. My suggestion change the challenges to getting 10, 20 , 30 ect kills. Then have different versions precisions kills melee kills vehicle kills easy stuff.

So for anyone not playing over 27 matches it’s actually worse, wtf lol. Come on 343 :frowning: I don’t have time for 27 dailies

Why didn’t they change it so that you get 50xp per march for say, 10 matches then give 100 after that? They could’ve balanced it better

The banshee part is a separate issue in that they need to change how vehicles work in BTB. Currently the heavy stuff like Banshees, Scorpions, and Wraths only spawn towards the very end of long matches anf are unlikely to be used for long before the match ends.

I’ve only seen Scorpions once and they arrived about 30 seconds before the match ended.

It’s still slower than before. You have to complete over 25 matches for the new Dailies to actually outweigh the old system. 20 games now gets you 1000xp, before it gave you 1050xp.

Yep it’s like seeing big foot. I was one the other day and went is that a scorpion then the game ended

It was slow from the get go. If this was halo reach’s progressive system I would be level 20 by now I am only level 7

Reach isn’t really a fair comparison because each level increases the amount of XP you need, and some items required you to be a particular rank before you could even buy the item you wanted. Also Reach had a daily cap on the amount of XP you could earn per day, and it was abysmally small in the first few months before they changed it to 200k xp per day.

Reach was also a 60 dollar game and not a free to play. Still, the progression is way too slow, I agree.

Stop using that as an excuse, for years this was going to be part of the campaign, it wasn’t until the delay last year that they decided to make it free. Either they intended on it being like this before the delay or they didn’t and the delay was mainly so they can strip all of the base stuff and create all the f2p junk. The delay certainly wasn’t to create more maps and gametypes for launch and i doubt they spent the entire year just polishing gameplay otherwise they would have delayed it far sooner than they did plus we wouldn’t have as many obvious issues during the flights and the beta that isn’t really a beta.

That’s not necessarily true. Any player they alienate is a player who is not buying any XP boosts. And even with more XP you’d still double it from an XP boost. Being able to level up twice for 10 matches (through an XP boost) might be more appealing to some than being able to level up once. Even if all they care about is profits there has to be a balance.

Uh, I wasn’t using it as an excuse? I even agreed the progression is still too slow for my liking lol

I get what you’re saying considering most people mainline fans are getting the campaign either way, but the idea of it being F2P is so that the game can be worked on and added onto for the 10 years it’s going to be around. The only Halo to add content post launch for free was Halo 5, unless you count MCC which has probably the best system ever, but that didn’t start until last year and they aren’t doing anymore seasons for it.

A game being F2P isn’t inherently a bad thing, as long as the system in place works fine.
