It is what the community asked for lmao. Reap your rewards.

It’s obvious that they’re trying stretch this season/battle pass out for a long time. My theory is that they don’t want anyone to finish the pass before May that way no one can complain about a lack of content before season 2 happens.

Level 13, actually.

Practice makes perfection (from my memory) was:

  1. Play a match (Bot Slayer, win or lose) 100 XP
  2. Play a match (Bot Slayer, win or lose) 100 XP
  3. Play a match (Bot Slayer, win or lose) 100 XP
  4. Play 2 matches (Bot Slayer, win or lose) 100 XP
  5. Play 2 matches (Bot Slayer, win or lose) 100 XP
  6. Play 2 matches (Bot Slayer, win or lose) 100 XP
  7. Play 3 matches (PvP, win or lose) 150 XP
  8. Play 3 matches (PvP, win or lose) 150 XP
  9. Play 4 matches (PvP, win or lose) 150 XP
  10. Play 4 matches (PvP, win or lose) 150 XP
  11. Play 5 matches (PvP, win or lose) 150 XP
  12. Play 5 matches (PvP, win or lose) 150 XP
  13. Win 3 PvP matchs 200 XP

I’m assuming PMP 14 would also be the same as PMP 13. I don’t know what 15 is.

This is all I can tell you.

You think they like twirl their mustaches and stuff?

Bless, thank you - this really helps.

Here’s a question, is 2021 the year of the snake? Cause I swear, that’s how companies have behaved all year.

No problem, Chief.

*this enough characters for you waypoint???

Lol, I know right?
Need 20 or more.

So by the math then - We now can play 23 games and earn 1150 XP, where the old system would’ve given 1200.
Or we can now play 28 games for 1400 XP, where the old system would give 1350.

It takes about 28 games in a DAY for the new system to give better XP than the old system.

That’s some great data. Thank you for that. But my criticism is generally that people shouldn’t get onto this game and complete daily games like it’s a chore. Because it does become a chore after a while. That saps the fun out of games at LIGHT SPEED.

Thank you. This is just the data for what the bear minimum to complete the BP is. People absolutely should play for fun, but the current system is actively working against that it seems.

I’m honestly just starting to lose my patience with 343, they’re starting to look really scummy.

They knew we had issues with the progression system for forever now, they tried to launch it anyway to get a feel for the true backlash (probably sold a handful of XP boosts while they were at it). Then after they received the MASSIVE backlash that they deserve, they pretend to be the good guys and actually end up making the system worse (unless you plan on playing 25 games per day) but make you feel more ā€œā€ā€œRewardedā€"" on a per match basis.

Mentally it makes everyone feel better now that they get to see a little progress each match, but the people who don’t take the time to think about it still feel like they are not leveling up fast enough. But oh boy, 343 DOUBLED the expiration time on that sweet XP Boost (which you now need even more since you’re leveling up slower) so you can buy that to level up.

It’s just all around slimy and what I honestly hate the most about it all is that they parade on twitter like they are these good guys listening to us while consistently & secretly scheming to make things worse so they can sell their boosts.

And XP isn’t even the only issue with the game, it’s just the hottest topic on people’s minds.

I’m like so disgusted with how this game has been handled. If you’re enjoying it, that’s really great - I’m super happy for you, but I’m not, like in any capacity. And it’s really depressing because I regarded Halo as my personal favorite video game series of all time, but I’m starting to really hate it.

It has been obvious to me that the developers intend to create such a progression system to their liking whilst keeping as many mouths shut as possible to get away with what they’re doing from the beginning, so of course they made it even worse [counterproductive] without giving players a fair warning.

As long as there is not enough pressure about the progression system, it’ll have little chance of being changed into something more suitable for players.

I’d say I’m surprised but nah. What’s the ideal situation here?

Probably a tiny bit of XP for a loss, more for a win, more XP for medals related to your objective in your game type (you can’t just make it performance based or the farmers in objective will just get rewarded as they go up 4-0 in flag and farm kills for 12 minutes while going 50-4) against average or below players.

Challenges will still have to exist for them to sell their cute swaps (who the f is really gonna waste money on swaps) but I guess maybe tie the weekly reward with X amount of dailys completed as well. Or abandon the idea of daily and make it so we have more weeklies available and have to complete more.

Really they should increase XP for ranked and make some of you play ranked for the first time in a decade.

100%, I’ve always regarded Halo as my favorite franchise since CE but I’m over 343 thinking the entirety of its fanbase are a bunch of pea brains who can’t tell exactly what they are doing.

Also, don’t even get me started with the color options and armor cores. The fact that Cadet Grey and the BP level 99 Grey are essentially identical is laughable, as while as the basic starting green AI being a slightly muted version of the premium pass AI. Like you just launched, there are only like 6 colors, and your first instinct was to put the EXACT same color in the premium pass?

I think you could make it performance-based, take 10% of your score. To ensure players don’t sit and grief you could maybe cap the performance XP, and then give little XP rewards for medals and a bonus for a win.

Put an h in front of the link above.

So, 343’s internal target is for us to be increasing by 1 level per hour (on average).
If we aren’t hitting that, there’s a problem with the system, and expect them to continue making adjustments.

Honestly the way things have gone I’m kinda thinking I’ll go back to MCC, I might (very strong might) get campaign when it comes out but as of right now this is a bit fun but it doesn’t keep my interest and no real progression system I don’t really see the point.

I wonder how they’re monitoring that.

A lot of people are using the weeklies to defend the XP payouts, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are still based on RNG and take away from playing the game the way you want.

Add to that some weeks you may get easier or harder weeklies that you either cant complete or complete quickly.

I wouldn’t mind the weeklies being so random if they weren’t gating a limited time item, tbh. If they were JUST for XP - that would be fine by me.
