First off; only one level of my SR level 147 I ran in a party. The 146 of that 147 I ran solo. I have Achilles, only because of some dudes I know from B.Net and Destiny. I will tell you this, you can’t play this game solo. Here are my reasons:
- The skill gap is too wide in matchmaking. I’ve see. Onyx with negative KD’s and dudes who have +10 KD’s.
- There is no playlist for people running solo like me.
- When people have mics they say nothing of importance.
- People think they’re Frosty from CLG and obviously they can’t play like he does.
- The matchmaking is terrible, how do level 10’s match with 147.
SR rank has nothing to do with matchmaking.
I go solo on a lot of games simply because I can’t find a team of my skill level. I’m not the greatest, if anything I’m above average, but when it comes down to it, the people that want to play with me are either too bad that they drag me down, or they’re better than me and I drag them down.
I solo’d what I could in Destiny, I’ve solo’d Halo 3, Reach, 4 and 5, I’ve solo’d CoD and BF, and although there’s a lot that I can’t do by myself, I find it much easier than waiting for a team to get their act together.
This is especially true for other games like RuneScape, SW:ToR, ESO, WoW, LoL, etc… I solo because of the same reasons.
However, in reply to RocketRaccoon90 - SR rank means nothing, yes, but neither does skill rank either… Every game I’ve played with a true-skill ranking system, I’ve not been able to get past the low ranks… But if I come across someone with one of the higher or highest ranks, 7 times out of 10 I absolutely smash them. Like the Halo 3 Ranked 1v1 playlist (RIP), there were people with 40+ in it who’d brag and brag about their achievements, then whine and call me a hacker when I challenge them to a 1v1 and smash them into the ground. To be fair with that though, I played a lot of the MLG Slayer gametype (No Radar ftw) so they didn’t stand much of a chance when I could already predict what they’re going to do before they do it… Can’t do that now though, Halo 5 is just too different from Halo 3.
I play solo a lot and generally have a good experience because I don’t play default Warzone.
I would definitely get a higher rank in arena teaming up. In WZ I run solo as well. Sometimes I carry, sometimes I get carried. Don’t mind as long as I am having fun. If winning is most important to you, then yes team up, you will get matched against solo players and you will able to beat them… sometimes.
Arena it’s better to play with a team, warzone not so much. I do quite well in warzone averaging a near 20 kills a game and I rarily get “farmed” on that many claim to receive. Arena is more of how patient you are with randoms if you solo it. Team play is always going to beat solo play at the higher levels of arena. There’s just more strategy being played and it’s harder to counter if you run solo unless the randoms all use mics.
I only play solo and haven’t had much trouble. I play regular war zone, firefight, FFA, btb, and the rotational social playlist. I rarely get “farmed” and do rather well in warzone. I pretty much stay away from the ranked 4v4 but that is mainly due to the mass quitters.
Solo on BTB is impossible if it’s a objective game type. Dumb -Yoink- teammates act as if it’s Slayer and never do anything objective wise, so annoying
I love me some FFA. So when I’m running solo it’s usually by choice.
Remeber the kitty team! Even when you run is a full squad you can still get your butt handed to you.

Speak for yourself! Only around 20 of my 2,000 games were played with anyone, the rest I played solo and I think I’ve held a pretty good account of myself considering I’m not that great at Halo. It can be a bit devastating coming up against a fireteam I’ll admit but my win/loss ratio is almost 50% so it’s obviously not that bad. I’m not a good Halo player and I don’t have a problem playing solo, it surprises me that so many people have an issue with this.

Disagree, I only play solo and BTB is probably my second favourite game type after SWAT
I solo 99.99% the time and i do fine
It’s not about k/d, it’s about fun. And if your not having any, leave. Me, I’m having a blast.
I solo 90% of the time and I have a blast!!!
That’s why I joined a company, so I could try to run four man teams for arena and 12 mans for warzone.
You hit a wall faster solo for sure. You can still have fun but you will win more matches playing and communicating with a team. What you absolutely don’t want to do is play with a team, hit a high rank, and then play solo. You will get destroyed playing solo at the rank level you achieved using a team. Solo is more fun when you are a bit “under ranked”.
Any game that you can’t play solo, will not be played. Halo 5 is played by many everyday.
I don’t know if you have had some really bad rage quits, but you can 100% play multiplayer on your own in this game, 100%.
