This is just my opinion on the current state of Halo.
When 343 started up working on Halo 4 they had 2 options, they could build off of Halo 3, which was a diamond, or they could build off of Halo Reach which was literally and metaphorically a -Yoinking!- turd.
343 chose the turd…
By choosing said turd they set themselves up for failure because no matter how much polishing and changing they did it’s still gonna be a turd, whereas if they chose the diamond it would’ve been nearly impossible to -Yoink- up.
So with Halo 5 I ask you to please pick the diamond and flush the turd away, and if it’s a floater just get Frankie to plunge that -Yoink-.
halo 3 BY FAR WASNT A DIAMOND it was more meh than anything else,
new trilogy new music new multiplayer new campaign
we want something new thats not a crappy supposibly SUPER SOLDIRE that cant run, look badass and not cartoony. halo 3 was just meh the multiplayer was just -Yoink- it cuz EXP ruined it, if EXP wasnt there then i would consider halo 3 a diamond but its obviously not happenin

Definitely disagree with OP. Halo ODST had the best campaign and the most balanced sandbox along with incredible multiplayer. They should have definitely based Halo 4 off of ODST instead of trying to come up with a new game.
Still not bad compared to Halo 3. I could say Halo 3 was a ‘turd’ compared to the speed and skill of Halo CE.
Inb4 Armor Lock, Jetpack, Camo, Bloom, all of which have been nerfed or removed and weren’t featured in every Reach gametype and playlist regardless.
Anyways, their choice is logical. They didn’t want to base it off of Halo 3 because Reach was the most recent game and they would probably alienate those fans.
