You can jump and ground pound.

Its stupid, you are 1 meter above ground and can still take someones shield out. Broken

Melee takes someone’s shield down. Broken.

Spartan charge takes someone’s shield down. Broken.

Body shot from a sniper takes someone’s shield down. Broken.

Don’t these comments seem silly to you? You have to charge ground pound. If you die from someone doing what you said, then that’s on you, not the mechanic.

This post is “broken”.

If you die from someone doing what you said, then that’s on you, not the mechanic.

While I agree there should be a little more height required to one shot someone on ground pound.

I love this new move. It’s so rewarding when you pull it off

OP - care to explain your reasoning?

Simple chases where opponent without shield goes for melee would die here they can literally turn the tide by just hiding behind a wall then ground pound you, because of the stun you get melee is out of option and bam you lost.
This is not the first this has happened, 1v1 against buddies of mine and they also agreed with me that it shouldn’tbe taking down shields. So increase the height in which you need.

you shoot him in the face if he has no shields

The guy is like 1 meter away and is distracted. Shoot him. If you can’t dodge a ground pound so close to the ground, because it’s super obvious to see, then idk that’s on you.

I mean… ok. So an opponent got you to chase them around a corner and they ground pounded you? Sounds like you just got outsmarted. I mean they could have stickied you too. Or just dropped a pulse grenade for you to run into. Or led you into an ambush from a teammate. You’ve got to be cautious when chasing people around corners in general. The ground pound would have been easier to avoid than a lot of traps they could have been setting up, it makes a distinct charging noise when the opponent is in the air. Instead of complaining that the game is broken, practice being more cautious about corners and thrusting out of the way when you hear that sound. If your opponent had missed, they would have been extremely vulnerable and you could have easily gotten the kill. Heck, even if they had hit and dropped your shields, if you had thrusted back the second you were hit, you still could probably have taken them out if their shields were already down. It takes a second to recover from ground pound, more than enough time to take out a Spartan whose shields are down with close range weapons.

What’s the difference between that or being meleed in the face after you go around the corner? Same outcome, different method.

If you don’t want to get surprise ground-pounded, don’t chase?

you have a fair point.
But the height still needs an increase thats something I’m going to stand by

if you get ground pounded you can’t melee them

Why? Jumping and trying to ground pound out of nowhere is not an effective tactic in any situation but the one you described. And even then, the noise is a dead giveaway. It isn’t overpowered or anything at all

See the thing is that ground pound will hit you almost everytime at that height unless you can actually see the future and know that they are ground pounding. There has been so many instances where i simply cannot dodge it even though i thrust away.

I have a bigger gripe with the spartan charge than the ground pound. At least you have a chance against the ground pound. You can hear it charging a good distance away.

At that range, you don’t need to “see the future.” You just need to listen. It’s that simple. The ground pound charge up makes a very loud and very distinct noise. If you get ground pounded at that range, you either need to turn up the volume or get your hearing checked.

A tip about ground pounding is to ambush and judge where the player is going. The mechanic just needs a bit of practice before you’re good at it. Truth and Regret are good maps to practice on, as well as possibly Overgrowth (the railgun spawn is perfect for ground pounding… if you time it right). The mechanic is a good one, it just needs to be practiced.

It’s not broken might want to have a better understanding of how it works, so I’ll share this link to explains it in detail.
