I was told that you can get that achievement in custom games, which I seriously doubt. Still, if there’s any chance this is correct, can someone explain to me how it’s done? It’s the only achievement I’m still missing in Reach. And I’d love to have 100% in at least one Halo game.
The achievement says: Collect all of the flags in a matchmade Stockpile game.
You probably wont get it from customs. If you are going to to try play Stockpile on Powerhouse with and idle controller, and collect all the flags.
Yes, if that is a Defiant Cheevio, you can get it in customs. you will have to find someone with the correct gametype though. I believe if you look in the achievement helper thread you will find someone with it.
Looks like Don Shetland has it. Maybe ask him to put it in his file share if it’s not there already.

I got mine in customs.
My friend and I both earned it during the same game of stockpile on team swat. I guess we were just incredibly lucky.
> I got mine in customs.
Could you tell me what exact gametype you used? I got two Stockpile game variants; the built-in one and another one that’s also just called Stockpile and has the Bungie logo as its creator.
I’ve tried it in a 1-vs-1 split-screen custom game with a guest signed in; default gametype, non-Forge map (Zealot). I picked up all the flags and took them to the collection point but didn’t throw them in. And in the meantime I used the guest to juggle the flags so they don’t get reset. Then I placed all four of them inside the collection area and waited for them to get collected. 4:0 for me. No achievement…
I’ve finished four games like that by now trying the built-in gametype and the other one I mentioned. Still nothing. The chances to get that last achievement “normally” in matchmaking are basically nil. Stockpile is only available in BTB, hardly anyone ever votes for it, and in the ultra rare case that it actually does get chosen, half my team either quits, AFCs, or goes into “screw the objective, lets kill stuff” mode.
It’s really frustrating. :-/
I have posted a link to a thread with someone that has the correct gametype. It has to be the newest one I think. Any how check out the thread I gave a link to. Good luck.

Yeah, I must somehow have missed that link. By now I’ve asked that guy and am waiting for response.
And thanks for posting that link in the first place.

Sure. No problem.

It was awhile ago, so I’m sorry, I don’t remember the exact variant.
What I do remember is that I played the variant first in Match Making. THEN I loaded up a custom game using the map/game type that was in my Temporary File History. If you do it this way, the files you’re looking for should be at the top of your list.
Load them up, and do it, you might need a friend/guest to be logged in on the other team too.
Good luck!
You Ate All The Chips is not a Defiant achievement, but a Noble one. As such, I do not think you can obtain it in customs.

You can obtain it in customs, as I’ve said, that’s where I got mine.

Are you certain it wasn’t the achievement Candy From a Baby that you got in customs? That’s also a Stockpile achievement. I’ll give it a go.

Oh jeez, You’re right, “You ate all the chips” I did with a full party on the Objective MM playlist.
“Candy From a Baby” is the one I did in Customs.
Sorry about that! (I would still think that you could do it the same way, but I don’t know now! Good luck.)
Yeah, I tried it in a custom and it was unsuccessful. Candy From a Baby is definitely attainable in customs, but unfortunately this needs to be done in Matchmaking.
Busted.

Did you try it with the game type downloaded from Bungie? Or from your temporary history?
Tried it with both the Matchmade and Bungie-created one, I know the built-in does not work. Sadly it’s Matchmaking only.

Thanks for testing this! And thanks again for correcting me.

Yep, that’s what I was afraid of. :-/

You should still be able to full party boost it, that’s what we did.
Grab 7 friends, play a couple of games on the Objective playlist, done and done.
