You Are Not Actually Leaving Halo

Ever since day 1 I’ve seen posts about people saying they are done with Halo because of reason X,Y,or Z.

Let me be blunt. If you were actually planning to leave Halo for good, there would be no point in posting on the forums. All you are trying to do is voice your distaste in the game you love in hopes that 343i will see and make the changes you desire. If you want change to happen, post constructively, not an exaggerated rant. 343i does listen to the fan-base. Why do you think they specifically said in the 2012 VGAs that the new SOPS season would contain new areas? Because they knew that people were complaining about the repetition.

As far as the the free DLC, it could have been a mistake, or it could very well have been a generosity to give them away for free because of how many people felt displeased with the state of the game at launch. So far I have yet to see anyone take 343i’s side in hardly any argument. And yes, I too bought the season pass.

I do miss Bungie, and I’m not saying that 343i is perfect. Many times games suffer at first when a company takes over. Just look at Diablo3 when Activision took over Blizzard. Things will get better. The game is still new.

I expect to get flamed by people or possibly get this thread locked, but I just felt that someone needed to say something. If 343i were to look at the forums, it would look like everyone hates Halo4. I know that is not the case. The game is a diamond in the rough. It just needs to get its cut. That will happen in time.

EDIT: We now know that the free DLC was a mistake by Microsoft, but the point still stands as is.

May the first reply be a non-flame reply. Thank you for your post.

No problem. Just being honest here.

Let me be more blunt: you’re as wrong as Halo 4 is competitive.

I paid for Halo 4. I also bought a new Xbox to play it on. I’m posting in the forums, on threads that are relevant to my issues. I’m not giving 343 the easy way out. 343, and specifically Frank O’Connor, made certain promises to earlier franchise fans. He completely lied to us, so far.

343 has to make a game that’s worthy of the Halo name. That includes taking out game-altering invisibility, and one-hit-kill weapons, that celebrate terrible players and a lazy mindset. I’m not going anywhere, sorry. And I’ll keep posting when relevant.

Not to mention the game outside of North America is unplayable 60% of the time online due to broken host selection and lag.

One does not simply finish Halo.

Ugh, you got a solid point. The OP is talking about those that say “RAWR I’M LEAVING HALO CUZ IT SUCKS, GOODBYE!” He’s not talking about posters like you that criticize the game to make it better.

That being said, I agree with both you and the OP.

I guess I’m in the middle, because I’m not playing currently, but haven’t sold my game. I felt included in his OP.

Exactly.

You could give me a list of problems with Halo 4 and I would agree with the majority of them. I also bought a 360 for the purpose of playing this game. My old one had the red ring of death for a long time and I just needed an excuse to get a new one. I saw Halo4 as my excuse.

The mistake in your understanding, I77logical, was that my post meant Halo4, as it is now, is an amazing game. I said it can be, and I believe it will eventually become, an amazing game. People only need be patient and constructive so that it can become such.

You are displeased and thus come to the forums to try to evoke change. You are the type of player with an understanding of what halo is that I am telling the others, who are here solely to rage, to become: constructive, helpful, and advisory, not “RAWR I’M LEAVING HALO CUZ IT SUCKS, GOODBYE!” as I see so frequently.

Oh no, I’m leaving. And nothing you can say can change my mind. Just like nothing I can say (or anyone else on these forums) will change Halo 4 in any way, because 343 either doesn’t read what we’re saying or care about us. Hence why I’ll be jumping on Destiny the first day it comes out rather than wasting my money on another botched Halo release.

Talking about Halo is still fun, even if the games suck.

’Murica for th’ win, sucker!

I’m not leaving for now, The forums are far more fun than the actual game,… but I’m not walking blindly into Halo 5 on day one either. After how this turned out, I’m simply buying the game at a later date if it warrants it, I have plenty of family members who’ll buy at least one copy and I can play it when their done with it.

I’ll also catch up with the story over YouTube. By then Valve might release it’s Gaming Computer and I’ll be checking that out as an alternative to what my next console is if it allows me to play Skyrim and access all the community mods. I just don’t know enough of what it entails yet, simple rumors only, but if true it’s a real consideration for me.

Throw in Destiny and I might have my exit if Halo 5 is like Halo 4 in lacking option and customizations, Forgeworld, Firefight ect ect. I mean the forum has covered all the losses and issues this title has brought to the launch.

But feel free to defend a game you paid 65.00 or more for with less features than it’s predecessors. It is fun at times I’ll give you that, but it’s also very frustrating at the same time and it’s not all the developer’s fault. This community of griefers would be easily left to it’s own ends if Halo wasn’t involved.
