The Halo community my dear friends is at a cross junction . On one side you have a community mostly the Competitive group who are complaining that Halo 4 is to much like COD .That it has a bad ranking system and is just plain out not Halo . On the other side of the Junction we have another group .Many of them also are Competitive but like what they see in Halo 4 . When Halo 4 being similar to COD is mentioned to this group they say That Halo has always evolved and changed . Its new appearance is simply that of it new form for its Combat has evolved . These two groups are at odds even though 343 tries desperately to please all groups . I ask now what do you consider yourself ? Vote in the poll above .
I used to play for fun only, but as time went by, I am more and more of a Competitive player and I like what I see in Halo 4, except for some designs, but I like most things that actually matter.
The game hasnt even come out yet bro, like most games there is things I think I will like and things I dislike. From a competitive POV, the Sandbox and core mechanics look solid its just all the different AA’s and modifications that have a chance of upsetting the games balance and flow.
Whether H4 has ranked and social playlists to cater to each side with tailored game settings will be a deciding factor in how each community reacts to H4. The ranked portion was almost non-existent in Reach which made the matches most of the time very one-sided and boring after a few games.
I’m really starting to hate how “competitive” people misuse the word “casual”. Play the game before you start judging every aspect of it.
First option master race.
lol jk. But in all seriousness, I like Halo 4 so far, save the ranking system.

Actually I have not yet decided if I am a casual of Competitive player . I enjoy Competition but I also like playing the game for fun . I tried my best to keep this topic unbias .
There aren’t just two sides, there’s no reason to split people up between casual and competitive, because there are many more different people out there who prefer different things…
When I play multiplayer, I do play it competitively. But I prefer Campaign over multiplayer and I also like to play random custom games. And yes, I love everything about Halo 4 so far. Of course there are little things I don’t prefer like weapon skins, but I just don’t see a reason to make multiple threads about something a few weeks before the game goes gold, it’s pointless… Especially if 343i hasn’t even confirmed it or barely talked about it (just way too many ranking system threads…).

I myself enjoy the story and Campaign of Halo much more then the Multiplayer .
I don’t care about MP. All that matters to me is a solid campaign and fun stuff to build in forge.

You and I are a lot alike when it comes to Halo in general, except for what we don’t like in Halo 4.

Agreed I hope MP is good but I would much rather the Campaign be great .I created this poll to see what are Brothers that enjoy MP was thinking of there aspect of the game .
I play to win, lone wolf style
But i enjoy Custom games alot too! Campaign and Spartan OPs seem like a blast to!!

Great, now I don’t have to feel so much alone anymore.

I’m a competitive player, has always been since I first started gaming way before fancy 3D graphics and stuff
I like what I’ve seen/read of Halo 4, not all of it (p2p horror) but enough seems “right” to make it better then Reach, better then Halo 3 (is today) and that’s enough for now. I like change, evolution, I want the games to take it to the next level, without ruining the core. Games advance and evolve, adapt or stay behind, your choice…
Not all changes are good, but neither are all changes good, and you got it give a new mechanic/gimmic a chance or two to prove itself before you kill it. 3D and VR has been around many times, but only in the last few years have the technology finally been good enough to make them “usable” if far from “optimal”, same can be said about game mechanics like Killstreaks.
Killstreas were added to reward the good players, the ones that did stuff even if the team lost, but the system was far from perfect and got abused. The system evolved, to the Battlepoints used in Homefront, where you get points for kills (not streaks) and buy stuff that “drops in” or you get it in your hand, very much like Ordnance drops in Halo. A good system that evolved from a bad one. I like Halo 4, but I have really high hopes for Halo 5 that thanks to new engine and hardware, can really be extremely good!

What can I say, people like us are a little hard to find on these forums.
Competitive and like what I see.
We Believed
then we dropped
Then we remembered
John is waking up it is time to Believe again .
I just play the game, why do I have subject myself to another label.
I play Halo to escape the labels in life.
Um im both. Im more causal then competitive but i do have my moments when i am competitive. And all i have to say is that Im stoked for Halo 4 but i cant say i love it because i havent played it. I hope tho that the feel of the MP returns to the Halo 3 feel.
What is this “casual” and “competitive” you speak of? I play however I feel like playing at the time. Generally I play more competitively when alone and don’t really care when with friends. As for Halo 4 I see it as something that will actually get me playing MP again, Reach feels pretty bland with DMRs only for just about everything but the custom loadouts seem like they will spice things up.
