I’m sick and tired of coming on this forum and seeing a bunch of brats crying about Halo 4. Halo 4 is objectively good, just look at all the positive review scores! The fact of the matter is this; anyone complaining about Halo 4 has severe entitlement issues which need to be sorted out immediately.
If you don’t know what entitlement issues are, let me explain: Say I give you an ice cream cone with sprinkles on it. You enjoy the ice cream and you are happy. Then say later I come back and give you another ice cream without sprinkles. Any normal person would simply accept the ice cream for it is and move on. A person with entitlement issues would think he is entitled to sprinkles, and would make a big fuss because he doesn’t get any.
Lets go further and say I remove the sprinkles, change the flavor of the ice cream and serve it in a bowl. Do you have a right to complain? No. Because you are lucky to get anything, it doesn’t matter if you only enjoyed the first ice cream because it was in a cone with sprinkles in a certain flavor. You are simply acting entitled.
So what if Halo 4 only has half of the customization options from Halo 3 or Halo Reach? So what if the campaign is shorter than all previous Halos? Does it really matter if we don’t have infection, race or VIP, it’s not like you will die if you can only recreate a few of the popular custom games from Halo 3 and Reach. And stop complaining that we don’t have another Forge World equivalent, it’s fine!
Just focus on the new features! Like how all spartans can sprint, or the ability to equip a magnum when holding the flag! Look at all the armor unlocks, and all the details in the graphics!
I hope now you all come to your senses and accept Halo 4 for the masterpiece that it is.
I paid $60 just like the rest of you, when a game has serious issues like connection issues and game breaking bugs in the game(map glitches like Complex) and the game is NOT up to a certain standard, then I have every right to complain.
If you see no problem with this game, then why aren’t you playing it? I’m here trying to help this game progress and trying to find more information about my missing Spec code.
If you have no problems with this game, then go play it.
No - it’s what they get for taking over for a company who listened to their community and tried to make changes based off problems teh community points out.
Now onto some specifics, it’s not even complaining for entitlement. it’s just more like “are you stupid?” Let me explain: Game A has a set of great features. then it’s sequel Game B comes out, it has all kinds of new stuff but dozens of the great old features are gone w/ no logical replacements.
Let’s also look at it like this: You got and ice cream cone, or fetter yet for comparison a little waffle bowl. Suddenly the ice cream man stops selling waffle bowls and just gives out ice-cream in a regular disposable bowl. The ice cream man’s product hasn’t declined much if at all in demand, so he is still making mre than enough money to include waffle bowled ice-cream and everyone knows it, so logically most ppl would probably be bummed out and even complain at this seemingly illogical choice, maybe even ask for the reason in this change. I mean yes it’s still the same good ice-cream, but now it comes with less, not an alternative that is just as good but just generally less.
you understand our reasons for complaining now? We are trying to communicate to our ice-cream man that some aspects of his product were fine and preferred before.
We are the consumers! The company does not just ‘dish out’ a game and say “there, be happy you’re getting something”, that’s nonsense. We as the consumers say “we want this because of this and this, so go and make it and sell it to us”. The consumers control the corporation - not the other way around?!
pretty much spot on, the op is right. Todays generation of gamers have serious entitlement issues as well as I want it know and it has to be perfect issues.

Actually thats far from the truth. The corperation always control the consumer.
All this said “displeasure” with halo 4, I bet halo 5 sells just as many copys.
I’m sorry, but if they bought the game they have the right to complain. I had to deal with people using the “entitled whiner” insult back with Mass Effect 3, and people don’t seem to understand that it really isn’t an insult. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. This whole thread is pointless and deterant of progress because the OP is bashing others over their opinions, instead of simply stating his and moving on.
I stopped reading right there as this clearly shows a lack of objectivity on your part.
It is a FACT that game reviews are entirely unreliable and anything scoring less than a 9 is virtually unplayable. Game reviews are also done based on a short time spent with the game, playing either Campaign or on LAN. These reviewers don’t have enough time to be objective as they are never getting passed the “oooooo pretty…” stage.
Now, to reply to your title as I can’t be bothered to wade through what is undoubtedly a self-righteous rant about other players rants:
We are Halo fans, that’s why we are here. Not all of us follow blindly and praise every decision made by the dev team. We are here to discuss both the positives and the negatives as we see them. If you can’t handle that, don’t log in.

I’m not going to even respond to that idiotic statement. I don’t know what world you live in but send me a postcard.

If you base your opinion on how good a game is on critic reviews and not user reviews, then you’re doing it wrong. We’re the users; our opinions are the ones that matter the most.

> So, Halo 4 is objectively good because a bunch of subjective reviews said it was? I’m not sure you know what the word objective means. And I’m not saying the game isn’t good, because it is, but that does not mean it cannot be improved.

> I almost want to say you’re trolling here. I mean really, we paid for this ice cream cone, it wasn’t just given to us for free. Not to mention we were promised sprinkles and chocolate fudge would come on it without us paying extra or waiting longer, and we didn’t receive either one. Your analogy is so far off it’s ridiculous.

I’ve come to the conclusion that the OP is trolling. He must be. But I’m still going to refer all those who are likely to agree with his trolling to the bolded sections of the quote. lol…
