It has been too long to still be having server error issues preventing people from getting on this forum.
Is another opportunity going to be passed by with people losing interest because Waypoint is not functional?
It truly saddens me.

Dude, we have a website update coming shortly, and every site has hiccups at one time or another.
Relax.

Every site has hiccups…
Hiccups are a minor thing and go away after a small time, it has been four, nearly five months now since E3 when these issues started happening.
The site going as slow as dial up and having it run into constant errors is not something I would call a hiccup.
I know. A lot of people will never come back here because of bad experiences with the website.
Can’t they just replicate Bungie’s forums’ experience?

This has been happening for a very long time and the time to cure the hiccups is not right before the big show. A huge interest was shown during E3, the site set records for population. Then it took a complete dump and the next couple of months were dead around here.
Right now it is like the same exact thing is happening all over again. I hope for the best, I really do, but as far as the forum goes, it just seems like 343 either does not care, or is unable to solve the problem.

Bungie ≠ Waypoint, though. They’re two different sites on two different platforms hosting two different software. It’s not like they can simply copy-paste things and all of the problems are gone.
But I absolutely agree that the site’s problems are somewhat ridiculous. Being a website that’s maintained by a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest corporations, I would expect things to run much smoother than they currently do.
Hopefully all goes well after the much-anticipated site update!

Alright, my sincerest apologies for the above statement. This is crazy.

Bungie’s website should still be absolutely the bar to shoot for. They had a perfect mix of simplicity, functionality, and deep integration. Their stats were a lot more complete and easily-navigated than Waypoint’s, and their website only crashed when they said that it was going to be down.
If 343 Industries can’t drop their current software in favor of something more stable, it’ll be disastrous in establishing an online stat-keeping community the likes of Bungie-era Halo.

I agree that Bungie should have the quality standard that Waypoint needs to shoot for (and surpass, hopefully), it’s just that a lot of people seem to think that Waypoint can simply take Bungie’s code and adapt it to fit their site. Which is not the case, considering their differences.
There have been some issues with the forums lately, and top men are hard at work trying to fix those issues. Don’t assume that it will be a simple fix, as there are a ton of moving parts to be wary of, but it is being worked on continually.
…pardon our dust.

Thank you for the reassuring response to this issue.
