YO! does anyone respect COMPETITIVE players Around Here?

I’ve only got one real criticism: stop with the colours, use highlighter or bold instead, red text is just horrible. And one correction, yes there are polite competitive players out there, but in my experience with halo, you are a minority. Most competitive players that I encounter are as you said above:

> Everybody has met the sort of player who likes to brag about their kills, trash talk call you a bad player, ect.

That is the main reason why competitive players get a bad reputation, because those people who insult, abuse, and brag are the majority, making the minority look bad. I have no problem with competitive players, unless they try to make the fun playlists (like living dead, action sack, grifball etc.) into totally competitive playlists or even try to have them removed. If you don’t try to ruin my fun, I won’t try to ruin yours. Your side of the community may like

> consistent gameplay where you start off on a level playing field, two teams enter the better one wins. This runs through map controller and constant practice to increase our skill.

and thats fine, but we may like a completely different experience. As long as both of our wills are heard there will be no trouble, and we can get along.

> Halo 2 and early Halo 3…Everybody said Good game!

Very true, especially in Halo 2.

that was back when more than half of the people that played halo were coherently intelligent, which meant people used voice chat. Now its vice versa, unintelligent people duking it out in game chat and making me stay in my parties.

Maybe if they stopped these things then people might actually care what they say, until then they seem like a bunch of nerds trying to make their epeon big over the internet.

Yeah, I’d go with that too. If you are threatened by players because they’re really good, than you’re just taking the game way too seriously. It’s a game, it’s not like if you lose they shoot your kneecaps out.

Nope none. Shooting something that doesn’t exist will never amount to anything but entertainment.

Its not an argument on what is resulted, the obvious answer being entertainment. Its a question of where the entertainment comes from. Some people get it from flying all over the damn place in a jetpack, and some people get it from strategic planning and playing it out, which also results in the satisfaction of watching your plan unfold perfectly. It will never change, so the best thing that can be done is appeal to both seperetely.

> The majority of Halo players may not be “MLG”, but I’m sure that a huge percentage of the Halo fanbase are competitive players.

Yeah this is true. For example in H3 there was competitive players who specialize in a certain playlist like Dubs, Slayer, Lone Wolves, Snipers, and etc. I for one am a Slayer Pro.

I feel this is very true because sometimes I feel like Im the only active poster on this forum that is a super ultra mega competitive player -_-

This is also very true. Sometimes when I stomp on the other team I say good game regardless and they just back out right away.

Nope, one of those does apply to you.

I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the second one, it’s not after the third one but it is in front of the second one.

Congratulations, you guys are super extra ultra uber absolutely unequivocally unfathomably earth-shatteringly mega competitive! Thereby there is a 75% chance you have no social life and/or spend 23 hours of your entire day in a dark, dust-filled basement where the sun doesn’t reach. You’re essentially a complete recluse!

Yeah!

>

Congratulations! you know nothing about our lives! chances are im a perfectly normal person!

>

This. I go to school and play sports but whenever its time to get on Halo I put my tryhard pants on and play to win. You know nothing of our social lives and stop judging others. If you have nothing nice to say dont say it at all.

LOL - Staff Captains !

My face when

>

In fact, I at least spend 12 hours of my day in a well lit room where sun shines all day as long as it’s sunny. And while I definitely have some dust around here, especially in hard to reach places. But generally I feel this room rather comfortable and well lit. And as I spend large amount of my time awake away from home, especially in summer time, I don’t feel like a recluse at all.

But at least you got a small part of your guess correct. I in fact do play my games inside a room of somekind that has some amounts of dust. But you definitely need to hone your guessing skills a bit more.

Respect is something you earn. If you are good-natured, then you get respect from me.

Spending at least 12 hours a day in a particular room isn’t necessarily healthy but besides that, good for you, man. There is no evidence as to what you’re saying is true but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.

My “guess” surely applies to some people though, and that’s indisputable.

Nope, I don’t.

maybe half a percent of the people on here? im being generous there.
