I sense a disturbance in the force, the forum is overwhelmed with negativity…
To bring back the balance, I feel the need to create yet another “calm down” thread.
As a software developer myself, I would like to point out a few things about the software development process:
-
Launch is an event inherent with huge risks. It is common practice to limit the features out of the gate until the devs are confident that the software is stable;
-
There are things that can’t be changed after launch, and there are things that can be changed after launch with minimal effort. Your favorite feature is not available at launch does NOT necessarily mean that it won’t be available later.
Examples of things that can’t be changed: anything new to the combat sandbox, like new weapon, new vehicle, new AAs, etc.
Example of things that can be changed quite easily: making rank visible, add playlists, allow flags to be dropped, etc
So, before getting too upset about the game, ask yourself the following:
-
Would you still be able to have a lot of fun with what they make available at launch? Is there an alternative if you decide to boycott Halo4? If your answers are yes and no, then try to take a breath and stay positive

-
Is the feature you want easy to add? Are there a lot of players want the same thing? If answers to both questions are yes, then don’t worry about it yet. There is a great chance that it will come later once 343i get over their nervousness of the BIGGEST launch ever in their career.
Peace out.
