Anyone else disappointed with this week’s bulletin? Still no word on a ranking system with in-game visible rank, no word on TUs or major changes to game mechanics. I don’t expect 343 to fix everything and release a TU just 3 weeks after the game’s release, but the sad truth is that it NEEDS a TU really soon! I would really appreciate if they talked about the bigger issues! Right now, I feel like custom-games and competitive communities are being ignored.

No offense but you are being really impatient, it takes time. Expect small changes, like they have, and we can get the major updates early next year.

I don’t really see the point in them giving us updates on Title Updates and other things such as the ranking system if there is nothing to update us on. The updates and ranking system will come out when they’re ready. Giving us an update on them every week isn’t going to speed the process.
If 343 were to maintain open communication with the fanbase, they would mitigate a huge proportion of the rancour currently being thrown at them. Goodness knows why they can’t see that.

Not only do you have to read but actually play the game… The join in progress system is NOT FIXED. I am still joining games close to ending and uneven team games are still starting…

How is 343 supposed to work on issues and at the same time read the forums daily? Have you ever had a job before? It is impossible for 343 to keep everyone satisfied and reply to every thread/post complaint that comes up. They are too busy working on the updates. They have 2 more map packs, working on Spartan Ops, working on Title Updates, working on weekly matchmaking issues, working on weekly updates to the infrastructure of the game… and they are working on Halo 5…
$100 says the Microsoft yelled at 343i for the pile of complaints regarding in-game progress.

Now back to the business at hand. On Monday, Team Snipers was removed from Matchmaking and FFA Throwback was added, as were 5 brand new Spartan Ops missions. Also included in that update were the following:
• Made late joining improvements to Join in Progress in all game types
This join in progress update was already applied this last Monday…

they have community managers who’s job is to focus on the community. they don’t build the game. it is very easy for bsangel to include info about the fixes in a bulletin, on twitter or with a post in the forums.
i’ll bet 343 wishes TU’s were as easy as you people think. modigying the base game isn’t something that’s quick or easy.

Do you not realize that the rankings is a complete new system they have to code up in all aspects of Halo Waypoint and Halo 4… 343 was planning on launching the game with no expectation of a ranking system AT ALL… But the community complained and 343 backtracked and announced they were going to introduce this new feature. So now 343 has to make plans to make a ranking system, where before I am sure they were not planning that at all…
I dislike it was not at launch, but I am thankful it is at least coming out. Unlike Reach, Halo 4 is actually going to have a ranking system one day.
But Ransom, you must never had a job where your boss added a task at the last second or actually had to deal with anything similar to that to see why it is going to take time to build this new feature… Ignorance is bliss.

This is entirely incorrect. I know from experience with the Blizzard forums regarding WoW; when the dev’s listen and communicate to the masses, stuff starts to go sour real fast.
Now a story,
I came from WoW being an extremely competitive PvP’er. The difference between the two companies is night and day in terms of balance. The worst thing that ever happened was when the dev’s started actively listening to the general forums for game advice and balancing in terms of PvP. That’s when everything went to hell and the current expansion and its ridiculous balance is the result of it.
People need to take a slice of humble pie and understand that these paid employees (and fans for that matter) of one of the largest and most expensive games of all time have to know what they are doing. The amount of impatience on these boards is staggering, really goes to show how ridiculous the community in this series has become.
I came from one of the worst and most exaggerated communities around and these so called super halo devotees with their ridiculous threads have dashed my hopes of this ever being a place I take seriously.

Not when they have not made the final decisions on the updates and are still in development. Has Apple ever said hey guys expect these new features in the new phone thats coming out in 3 months? No. 343 has not made the final decisions on the updates and are still in development, they have a lot of steps to do before they come to that point. When 343 has finalized the updates and are at the final stage of the product they will give us info and proceed to launch such said update/product.
Just like the map pack update today, bsangel was told not to talk about it until today. It is a process. bsangel does not have the authority to scream her lungs out with all the information she knows, thats not how large companies like Microsoft and 343 work because development is a process. There is several steps to developing a product or feature.
