So the only people who can get the Strider and Scanner helmets are those who buy the map pass. But those who pre-order the Limited Edition get all of the maps and specializations, but not the two helmets.
If one were to pre-order the game AND buy that other map pass separately, would they be able to get the only two helmets that don’t look completely ridiculous? Or can they only choose one or the other?
> Theoretically I don’t see why not. But Scanner looks ridiculous.
Granted, maybe they didn’t need to make the VCR player slammed into its forehead THAT obvious, but I still think it looks better than a good 90% of the helmets that ship on the disc.
It also bugs me because Strider and Scanner are two of the only helmets in this game that looks like they’d make sense for a female avatar. Reach had a lot of helmets that looked like the person wearing them could be any gender and it would make sense. But here, they’re all overly-masculine or monstrous.
Just seems like extortion to me. “Crappy helmets are free. But you have to pay extra for the ones you’d have any self-respect using.”
I doubt it’d be more than 30 dollars, but that’s just a guess.
But when you factor in the cost of a Limited Edition copy, that’s, what, $130? Just to get the content you would have gotten for $60 if this game were released ten years ago?
I’m getting the stand alone pass, I might use Strider from time to time it looks great. Scanner looks hilarious not to my taste but I can see why some people love it’s quirkiness.
> Here’s what I did,
>
> Pre-order from gamestop and best buy. Standard Editions.
>
> Since the pre-order bonuses are on the receipts, I will open the one from Gamestop to be played.
>
> Use the code from Best Buy for the armor and helmets, leave that one unopened.
>
> Exchange the one to Best Buy for 6000 MS points, buy the Map Pass.
>
> So, I get the armor/Skins from Gamestop and Best Buy, and the two helmets from the MP.
Why would you want the same pre-order bonus twice?

Actually, it’s not.
The Limited Edition costs more, and offers less content than just buying the game and map pass separately.
That’s literally the opposite of fair, because the people who show more devotion through their wallets get screwed.
