but thats no reason for sprint and hes not superman, hes still human and he wears a 1000 pound heavy armor
in one of the books it says that if a normal marine would wear a spartans armor his bones would crush to dust, the weight of a spartan without his armor is 300 pounds or something like that(i guess),additional to the 1000 pound heavy armor, its around 1300-1500 pounds, and you want to sprint?
Sprint is pointless. The fact that they have to make maps to accommodate Sprint just means that it would easier to NOT have Sprint to make it easier to make maps.
The armor enhances speed and strength. Nuff said.
Spartan IIs can run at a top speed of around 60 mph (Spartan IVs will not be as fast but still fast), the MJOLNR armor also enhances strength and speed, spartan augmentations gave spartans incredibly strong bone strength and highly increased muscle mass, and they are freaking spartans regardless if they are IVs or IIs, so yes they can sprint
MC has been clocked at running 105Km/H.
Your argument…
It has become invalid.
> The armor enhances speed and strength. Nuff said.
what does the aromr has to do with speed and strength? i shall protect you from fall damage, bullets…
chief got his speed and his strength from his training every day for 30 years and from the genetically improved bones, muscles and the rest
Why are we even having this discussion? Realism does not matter in the slightest when it comes to what’s better for matchmaking.
I really don’t care about the storyline, I just want a good competitive multiplayer that’s fun unlike previous halo games
cough reach cough

The armour supports its own weight, and then actually adds to the Spartans already incredible strength and speed. If you are looking for a reason in the fluff to discredit sprint, it ain’t there.

The MJOLNR armor that spartans wear enhances the strength of the user and thus allows the user to run at an increased speed even with just enhanced speed from augmentations the spartans would only be able to run at half their top armored speed. The armor does a lot more than just provide protection for the user. One of the main incorporation’s of the armor that Halsey wanted for the spartans was something to enhance their strength so that they could be even better soldiers on the battlefield, this would also help keep them from getting exhausted as it allowed the armor to be moved much easier. This is explained in the fall of Reach I believe, correct me if I am wrong
Maybe they should keep sprinting for campaign, but it should stay away from matchmaking.

Ok I think you’re wrong about the weight. WITH the armor he weighs 1000 pounds. His normal body weight is probably somewhere around 400 pounds.
Keep in mind his muscle and bone density is higher than a normal human, so even in armor that actually weighs around 600 pounds, he can move fast. You also have to consider that fact that the newer MJOLNIR armor variants (MK V+), have a neural interface which makes the suit move the moment their brain goes “run!”
Soooo to bottom line this…there are enough reasons why he can sprint.
People need to understand how MJOLNIR power armor works before arguing against Spartans being able to sprint in it or not. Yes its stupidly heavy but its power armor, it enhances the Spartans already super human capabilities making them just insanely strong and fast. Anyway, i don’t understand all the hate for sprint its super useful for getting around the map and does not damage multiplayer at all.

I agree 100%. I loved sprinting in reach. walking at the same pace like in 2 and 3 meant that if you were attacked from a compromising position there’s no way to get to safety. Sprint provides the safety as you can run around corners and try and counter attack. it was great for strategy and skill.
most of all it didn’t make you feel like a super soldier at all.
Read before you post please… If you read anything you would know they’re enhanced super soldiers…

What the hell!!! They have been biologically engineered, that’s why they are so heavey, they have increased EVERYTHING, meaning that they are stronger, more intelegent and FASTER!, the armor is bloody power assisted, it is as heavy as a quad bike but feels as light as air.
That’s why they can do all of that, I can’t believe that you thought they could do all of those things because of the augmentations, the soul purpose of the augmentations was to make sure that they were not torn apart in the armor, the armor is 75% of the Spartan, so yes we want to bloody sprint and sprint like a Spartan 4 in Mark 7 armor, which should be 30 - 40 MPH like most spartan 2s can.

I think it is was bad for skill because you could just run away, in a halo game if you are a better player you can still kill someone who got the first shot on you without turning tail and running away. Just my opinion
ya the armor isnt JUST there for protection it is like an exoskeleton it is super heavy but it makes you stronger so you can lift it plus more so sprint make perfect sense
i don’t see any reason for it to not be included in multiplayer besides… it was pretty fun running from kill balls in indiana jones games.

He got his “basic” strength and speed from training but if you read the books the armor made him get way stronger and faster than he would’ve been w/o it, P.S in the books it also said a spartan wouldnt be able to tell that it was heavy. So ya… they can sprint way faster than they do in the games
