People on these forums need to stop promoting the aim saying if you just change your deadzones or get good at the game no that’s not the issue there is something wrong with aim mechanics and Most people are recognizing it while others are downplaying the issue… no matter what type of settings you use it doesn’t negate the fact that there’s little to no aim assist no bullet mag. Loss of red reticle range weird aim curve with the right stick. Inconsistent wonky movements stop downplaying it on these forums and acting like it’s a simple fix it’s not at all whatsoever it needs to be smoothed out before launch or else we’re gunna have another halo 5 type of aim system which is far from great… and I also think it’s giving inconsistent feedback on weapon balancing issues across the board and I won’t have it on my watch…
this is what i posted in the flight feedback post
Aim feels off! Im not talking about the lower AA either, im fine with that. I just cannot get the aim in Infinite dialed in at all. ive tried settings at min, max, and everything in between for dead zones, sensitivity, acceleration, no matter what i try it just does not feel right. I usually have pretty good controller aim accuracy in most games so im not sure whats up. Its hard to even describe whats off about it, its like both too slow and too fast at the same time despite settings. trying to make micro adjustments feels super janky and feels like it moves in segments while trying to track someone up close is super slow. It has an inconsistent feel to it. Maybe its an issue with the lower frame rate from playing on the original xbox one idk. I even loaded up my OG halo 2 on my OG xbox console and played some campaign with (auto-aim) turned off, and it felt much better than Infinite.

Yep it was an issue in H5 too I thought this was a new engine 343? Trust me I used to change my setting I’m H5 to get the right feel every 2 seconds in a match and and I will not be going through that again ever again like I have been in this flight … so they better figure it out because it’s the biggest issue right now…

This guy gets it
halo 5 actually felt fine to me, and after alot of customization all the MCC titles feel close to the originals as well. But infinites aim feels awful, Its just doesnt feel right at all. I was even holding my controller eye level with my screen to try to see how well the movement was matching my input and it seemed off by a lot. Not sure what it is, but there is something deff wrong with it.

Trust me man H5 doesn’t feel fine and it never will….and don’t wanna see infinite go down the same path…
During the beta I was watching Royal 2 play and I asked in chat about his settings
This is from a current Halo pro who has a high skill level and more adaptable than most of us
He replied “ No idea yet, I am still changing them after every game “
If he is struggling what chance do the rest of us have !

Yea and this was the exact problem with H5 and I’m not gunna have another 5 years let alone 5 seconds of it …
Another post telling people that what they experienced is wrong because you didn’t experience the same thing. My aim is completely fixed after adjusting and fine tuning, but apparently I must be wrong because you say so.

Preach brother
As I’ve said in other posts, there is a measure of assist already in place - it’s just quite minimal. I wouldn’t want a massive buff to aim assist mechanics (whether it be assist itself or magnetism or something), but we need bump up somewhere bc even after adjusting deadzones and acceleration settings, it does often feel some of the guns are as much an enemy as the opposing team.
I went into training mode and played with setting for about 30 minutes and was able to get the aim feeling pretty good. For me it was deadzones as low as my controller would allow without drift (for me that was 6), 4 acceleration and 3.5 horizontal and vertical sensitivity. The Red Reticle range is a big deal. Most fights start outside of ‘intended’ range (assuming RRR is intended) and didn’t feel great. Inside RRR though I thought that the game felt pretty good. Not a ton of AA, and very little bullet magnetism. Mostly how I prefer my FPS games on console.
Either RRR needs to be extended, or ideally they remove the laser-beam qualities with some of the guns to function less efficiently outside of said range. Hitting someone outside of RRR should take some decent skill, and the problem is that it wasn’t because the AR was so forgiving. Default sensitivity was definitely weird, but all of my friends and I were able to get it fixed with just a little bit of tweaking.
The super tiny reticles make the reduced aim assist massively more impactful than it should be. Why we can’t have the same reticle sizes as every single other Halo ever made is beyond me, and it very clearly is effecting how much aim assist controller users get, since it is so easy for people to just strafe out of your reticle.
Having played both xbox and pc versions on this flight aim assist is an issue. As i have played halo from the start on xbox and now just transitioned to pc i still use a controller on pc and noticed that there doesnt appear to be any aim assisit on pc if using a controller but on the xbox there is.

Same dude. I’m sure it could be easier and better and there probably is some aim assist adjustments needed but it feels real good right now for me.
Still think it should feel good for everyone though. It’s going to put off a lot of controller players if they can’t hit the barn door when they first load up the game.

I thought you can adjust the thickness in the settings?

Yep definitely an issue I wish 343 would come out and say something it’s driving me nuts…

Yeah the AR has some unexpectedly beastly range, maybe the idea is to fight like BR - Commando - AR - Sidekick. In the intended range, each gun dominates all of the others. That’s kinda cool to me.

Yea you got a problem with it ? I just want infinite to be good sorry you don’t have as much passion about halo as I do… next
