Yes! 343 listened to one of my requests!

I loved the Halo 3 co-op campaign and love the Halo 4 co-op campaign. But there were a couple things missing from 4 that I loved about 3.

.

  1. Scarabs (could not battle these in Reach, huge disappointment)
  2. English speaking enemies
  3. Brutes

.

Well it looks like my #1 request has been met!!! If you play Spartan Ops this week Episode 6, chapter 5 you know exactly what I am talking about. I was cheering with so much excitement when I seen that thing last night!!! This is called a “Harvester” but it is clearly the H4 version of the Scarab. You know dang well we will be battling that thing eventually just like in H3!! Even if we dont battle one of these I was just so happy to see the appearance in H4 and we could actually enter it!! Thank you 343!

Its no Scarab, sorry

I explained that in my reply above your post that its not a Scarab. Its the Halo 4 version of the Scarab called the Harvester. Dang near identical to the Scarab.

That is like saying the Locust in Halo Wars was that game’s version of the Scarab, it wasn’t.

You look familiar…

There are still Scarabs. The harvester is more of a mining vehicle rather than a combat one. It’s not the Halo 4 version of a Scarab. There is the Scarab and then there is the Harvester.

I thought we would actually get to see the Harvester move in that episode…

Like I said in the first post, I truly believe we will see this thing move and have to battle it eventually. Similar to the way we battled Scarabs in Halo 3.

Can you go inside a Locust? Are there enemies inside a Locust? Just wondering.
You can go inside a Scarab. You can go inside a Harvester
There are enemies inside a Scarab, there are enemies inside a Harvester.
The Scarab and Harvester seem very similar to me.

Regardless, thank you 343 for putting this Harvester (Scarab looking enemy) into Halo 4 Spartan Ops.

Maybe we’ll get an old school Scarab fight, or another Lich battle later in Spartan Ops?

> Maybe we’ll get an old school Scarab fight, or another Lich battle later in Spartan Ops?

That would be so amazing! Really hoping for that. I am still just so happy to see this in H4. Especially since we were able to interact with it.
I realise there are a lot of people that dont care for Spartan Ops but I think 343 is doing an excellent job with it.

Can’t go inside it, but you can order them as units since Halo Wars is an RTS. And yes, there would be a crew inside the Locust.

Even the wiki describes it as being very very similar to the Scarab. lol

“Harvesters are the most massive Covenant land vehicle to date, with only the “Super” Scarab being comparable in size. Generally used in long-term invasions, they are not commonly seen by UNSC personnel. Much like the Scarab, it appears to be composed of some form of Lekgolo assemblage, as sections of its interior display exposed Lekgolo worms. As with most Covenant vehicles, the Harvester has an organic appearance. It heavily resembles a spider due to its overall shape, heavily textured outer “skin” and a hatch at the front of the machine that resembles a mouth and eyes. The interior is composed of multiple massive chambers that resemble dark subterranean caverns, linked together by smaller hallways and illuminated with pale green light”

The locust does sound like fun too, just much smaller than the Scarab or Harvester.
