Yeaaaaah.... halo 4.

(before I get slammed by all the commenters, please note. This is my OPINION. I am explaining my reasons here to see if anyone agrees. Yes I am probably “Wrong” to most of you.) P.S - There is a summary if you really cant be bothered reading the whole thing.

Yeah… Just going to go on record and say that I’m pretty much giving up on 4.

The ordnance drop system is just as biased as it ever was.

On infinity slayers due to the inability to betray has lead to multitudes of kill steals because you cannot get back at them, and an assist is little considering how ineffectual they are at getting ordnance

The maps I am not fond of, they are mostly small and circular with exception to the premium maps which I’m not paying for. (I know if I got legendary I got them free, but I don’t have that much money, so I got normal edition…)

Because I got normal edition I had to wait weeks and weeks just to level up and use the majority of the useful perks

I am sick of the constant black screens and lag issues caused by the joining in progress.

I hate the binary weapons. The binary rifle eliminates any skill required to sniping, even if it was cheap before. And the incinerator cannon is just a luckless, skill-less version of the rocket launcher, capable of destroying ANYTHING in one hit, be it Tank, Over-shielded, or 4 people all at once.

Need I say anything more?

Summary:
In my opinion, the majority of Halo 4’s Development was spent more on “Prettying up the game”, explaining the huge epic scenery, and well detailed and lighting and such. Which I will admit, is vastly superior to reach…

However, the fact they spent so much time “prettying” the game, has made the gameplay feel lacking to me.
The matches come and go with no real sense of achievement, or skill, just luck on ordnance and having teammates who MIGHT stick around since its so easy to quit and rejoin a game within minutes.

Oftentimes lag plays a significant role in the outcome of the game due to the constant changing of hosts due to the joining and leaving.

In this case, I actually think it was BETTER when you couldnt have players rejoin a match, without something to compensate for all this lag, it just makes all the waiting and laggy deaths more frustrating.

You just seem to me to be a person who relies on ordinance drops to get good kills.

The binary rifle only has 2 shots before it needs reloading not to mention the fact it is actually pretty rare to see it. You miss you’re screwed.

I love all halo games and to me the MP on this game is just as good as any other. Sure there are things that need changing (the DMR for example)but other then that everything is good.

the lack of betrayals is my single biggest issue with playing Halo 4 multiplayer.

Almost every game (either happens to me, a buddy, or some random dude I watch) - someone will intentionally run over a teammate who just picked up a sniper or other power weapon.

It happens all the time on Exile (especially blue side) - I’ve been killed probably once every 3 game starts by some jack–Yoink- who runs me over to either get the sniper or the Banshee.

It also happens a ton on Rag, Vortex, and Longbow. Now that I think about it, it just flat out happens everywhere. -Yoink-.

I think you should take a break and try playing again after the weapon update, then if it still dosn’t feel right you can give up.

Unfortunately that must be your bad luck in all the 200+ games i have played i have never been run over or TK’ed for someone to get a weapon before i do.

I agree. As nice as the power weapons are, I always find myself sticking with the DMR to get my kills.

Sure, there are some games where some sniper is messing you up. But nothing that I could not handle simply by avoidance or team pressure on said sniper…

In response to Raizurk - No, I don’t, I tend to use dmr / Assault rifle combo for most fights, but when your fighting people who use the 1- hit weapons and seem to have inordinate supplies of it, then yes. I don’t like them. The only ordnance I use is to try and get the “Breach” stance, so the human drop downs.

(besides which I already said “This was my opinion” in the start of the post)

I have long since given up on using the forerunner weapons, bolt-shot included.

In response to RyoTakahashi that implies that we have capable, co-ordinated teammates. I have very rarely had that as the case for my allies.

Not disagreeing with you but where in this godforsaken community would you actually find people who play for the team? Not just objective players but people who recognise the threats of snipers, Gauss Warthogs etc.
Also avoidance is sort of futile seeing as half the damn snipers in this game use PV (while the other half use Camo).
You can’t find any good teammates anywhere, anymore. All that’s left are neg 3Ks trying (but failing) to get CSR 50s.

Gotta agree with Phantom on this one… I mean, yes, a lot of the flaws in the game could be overlooked with teamwork and diligence, but the majority of players are out for their own score. Hence the betrayals for power weapons, the kill steals, and so on.

That makes it so much more obvious where the flaws in the game are.

Wow, jealous! It happens semi-often even when I don’t get killed. Using the Exile example again, if I’m ahead of someone going to Banshee off of Blue spawn at start of game, I’ve had teammates behind me whip a couple stickies onto it right before I jump in to blow it up. Which really sucks for our team because my wheelman load-out package + me in a Banshee on Exile means a minimum of 10 kills towards our team points prior to getting shot down.

Not really sure who the “Wow Jealous!” is directed to.

Totally agree with you on this.

My problem is that most of my buddies aren’t on Halo 4 enough for me to build a good team for matchmaking. I really enjoy the tactics & teamplay of Halo - when it happens.
I’m on the BTB and CTF playlists mostly, if any of you guys are looking for a good team experience let’s start adding eachothers’ gamer tags and partying up when we are online, eh? GT - shaman0610

Hehe, I like it.

I for one have to agree, with good teamwork, the players can overlook a lot of the flaws of a game… its why I loved reach so much, I had a few people I could rely on to play it with and could trust to fight for the team… with 4 most of my friends are already ditching it, so Im left trying to get past some of the flaws I find obvious…

I will agree with Shaman0610 on this, If we are to actually get some good teams together, some good could come from this.

My Gamer tag is: Shadow m

Yeah, I was actually messaging him about the update… I understand that I need to consider it.

Don’t forget it makes an obnoxiously visible laser whenever you zoom in.

Also don’t forget that the majority of the maps are built in a CIRCLE. Making it unlikely to actually see the laser

Well then. I have waited for the update.

I have played several games of Dominion, and some of Team objective.

The gameplay has not been changed to any discernable degree. With the exception of the obnoxiously red X when a teammate dies which is impossible to not notice.

The people are still self-centred, and teamgames are still aggravating.
The weapons are still broken, bolt shots in particular are still being flaunted for insta kills.

Halo 4…

I just dont care anymore.

  1. Just… Why?

Ive given up on Halo 4 Officially now. I leave it to the Trolls who frequent the winning teams, and the Cowardly -Yoink- who will constantly defend the insta kills, the “Perfect Camo” glitch people, and whooever else still enjoys this.

To me. This game is dead.

your moaning because you can’t team kill people who apparently stole your kill even though you can’t steal kills on here

…Seriously?

Did you read a single bit of the first post?

A: This is my opinion.

B: There is the possibility that I might be wrong.

C: Respect others opinions unless I’m claiming its fact.

D: Its a shooting game. A competitive one. Assists are awarded if you take the persons shields off and someone else kills them. When this is done ON PURPOSE then it is a kill-steal.

Usually the person teabags the ground in front of you then shoots at you to show it was on purpose right after.

  • In future, actually Check you know what your on about OK?
