I’ve been waiting for some interesting out of the ordinary game types like this. None of the challenges seem to be terrible either, mostly completing matches, winning matches, or killing Spartans from what I see.
I think special events are a balance. Some people need a little nudge to step outside their comfort zone, and rewards do that, but you have to be careful that the rewards aren’t too crazy difficult to obtain. My most miserable gaming memories I have are grinding on a mode I completely hate for what seems forever.
Definitely enjoying it quite a bit so far. Nice to finally have an event that is a variant of my favorite playlist, instead of having to play some FFA variant. Also feels more fresh for me personally, since I’ve been playing other games for the past month and half or so.
I’m finding the event to be a blast, mainly since BTB is my favorite playlist and I’m happy that we finally have an event for it (LSS was more of a FFA event with a boosted player count). The campaign variants are fun to play with now that they spawn abundantly on the weapon racks, I’ve found the stalker rifle ultra to be a favorite of mine. I like the regular version visually and think it is the perfect pseudo-power precision weapon, but I’m too -Yoink!- with it to bother most of the time.
I will however agree with the sentiment that it always sucks to be forced into playing a gamemode you don’t like in order to get rewards/to progress. Infinite gets way too specific with its challenges (a new player shouldn’t have to guess if “team slayer matches” means any team slayer gamemode from BTB to quick play to bot matches, or if it means the “Team Slayer” playlist specifically). I will though that if you are going to be that specific, an event would be the place to do it. Thankfully, all the challenges I’ve seen for the event are the kind that will just happen naturally if you play the game.
loving the Yappening in all but one sense, hate the snipers mode, I have been unlucky enough to get spawn sniped 10 times in a row before. But out side of that Fiesta BTB should be on rotation in BTB at all times.
One thing I really love is how it bring s the upgraded weapons into play, randomly getting one on the pad allows for some heavy change in gameplay especially if you can use the weapon at hand.
I mean I have melted people with the shotgun plasma pistol as it has a desent DPS and is semi guided even in uncharged mode. The impact commando is also a game changer when someone that can use it gets it, and don’t get me started on the heatwave upgrade that thing is a power weapon of fun.
Really can’t wait till forge as these weapons are going to be epic when they appear on maps.
I want to know the kill speed of the Special Sentinel Beam is… It kills in less then a second if you keep the beam on someone, but runs out of ammo super quick.
my game crashed last night when i was live streaming and i grappleshot attached to a warthog on breaker and the distance of the grappleshot cable was super long because the warthog was driving away from me as the grappleshot tried to pull me towards it.
I had more than enough of Fiesta during Tenrai, and I’m not going through that hell again for some 6 month late Easter cosmetics. Halo 5 Big Team Super Fiesta was fun, because there was a massive sandbox of weapon and vehicle variety. Halo Infinite has borderline nothing. The maps aren’t properly designed well enough for vehicles in the first place, let alone dozens of them. Fiesta also destroys your SBMM score.
The whole event is Spring themed. Bright green, white, pink, and blue, rabbits, flowers, etc. It’s an Easter Spring event. It didn’t come in Spring, because Season 2 was delayed and BTB was broken after the cat ears came out.
So you’re suggesting that 343, a North American company, is celebrating Easter in Autumn, because it’s Spring in the Southern Hemisphere? Thanks, Australia and South America. Surely that’s the most logical reason.
