Is it just me or is Yap Yap severely OP in 1v1? All I make is anti-infantry pretty much to counter him but no matter what I do or how much I micromanage, I still lose by a landslide. Thoughts?
According to your record, you’ve only played against 1 Yap Yap in the last few weeks.
Also, that guy was probably a smerf account since he’s only played 4-5 games, and his name includes a Yap reference. So, it may just be a top player you were up against. Could be a hard fight no matter what the leader match-up.
But, flamers are a good go-to against Yap. Keeping them to 1 base is a good plan too.

Are you talking about your last game with Jerome? I saw you built a lot of snipers but against Yappers Hellbringers are much more effective. What else do you do in your build?
Simply building hellbringers won’t cut it. Snipers are quite squishy and need to be micro’d well. Building an effective build with marines, flamers and a spartan to jack a -Yoink!- wagon and you literally will smash yapyap. There is not much yap can do about those types of encounters; against players who know how to do this well, yap has no chance.
If this was a smurf yapyap then you would of had no chance anyway even if they have another leader. Not saying you are bad, but some folk like to have ten thousand accounts and I guess smash on poor unsuspecting players. Sometimes you just have to take the loss and move on to try to continue learning and becoming a better player.
Yeah, sorry. I just played one match real quick. Shoulda specified. But yeah, I was really trying to micro my snipers, put them in towers and keep them distanced. I felt like I was massing hellbringers at them but they expanded way too quick. I couldn’t get a good foothold on them. I felt as though I did everything I could. Not sure what I could have done better other than I suppose producing fewer snipers. Any other suggestions, as Jerome, for what I should have done differently?

I feel ya. I’ve played on and off since the game came out. But I wanna get more serious about it. I wanna be able to compete with these sorta people. Thanks for the advice. I couldn’t hi-jack seeing as I was playing Jerome and never got anywhere close to Omega Team. Maybe I did need to invest in marines a bit more since eventually they started beating my -Yoink- with choppers and wagons.

ToH Hellbringers should rekt Yap. Jerome can also easily snipe Methane.

I actually celebrate when I play against a jerome. Jerome is easy to counter as yap. No spartan to steal his wagon early game and the y ability wrecks the mantis drop. Try to snipe with that thing and I will surround it with fodder while I attack minis or main base and such.
