Hey guys I am a new player just looking for some advice! Do you think Yap Yap is worth learning to play? He looks really fun to me. Also I feel like I get trashed a lot by early Serena snowcone rushes. Would Yap be able to deal with that at all? Thanks guys. Appreciate the community!

Yapyap is definitely worth learning. He has a really high skill cap.
To deal with opening rushes as Yap you’ll need to use the mine and Methane Wagons.
Yap is definitely solid, but he’s one of the hardest leaders to learn.
Unfortunately, he isn’t great against rushes. He has no solid T1 anti-infantry, so troops like hell bringers or cryotroopers are bad news. Once the proposed changes drop that improve the effectiveness of methane wagons against those troops, he should be a lot better.
Yap is all about stealing minis and fast expanding. Generally, building the extractor 4th is a good idea while spamming cannon fodder and gathering resources. Expoing around the 2 minute mark and then double pumping heavy grunts with methane wagon support will get you through the early game. Once in T2, engies, your Heroes, methane wagons, and locusts is a good unit composition.
