Like cod still lets you play pretty much all there old games online but with halo the oldest one is h3 and even that one is closing soon! wats up?

It really annoys me when games have online achievements and then they close down the online servers, i’m looking at you Lord of the Rings Conquest -___-

lol, i was agreeing w/ you that they share the servers (i think they do at least, cant fully recall) and then asking where K000LAidMan heard the rumor that H3’s servers were getting shut down…
Op, you are making things up. Halo 3 will shut down at the same time as halo 4, gears of war 3, call of duty 2-mw3 ect. They all will shut down on the same day. The day ms chooses to shut down xbox 360 live. They never shut halo 2 down. They shut down original xbox live so any game that ran off it lost live. Plz stop spreading random bs.

that’s what i thought too, although at the slim possibility of reallocating h3’s large server space for H4 purposes (which someone might re-tell as the servers being shut down) made me ask where he heard it from 
It would be to soon to shut down Halo 3 servers IMO. Wait for halo the end of Halo 6…

I agree with goobot. They turned off the old Xbox servers, which sadly did wipe out Halo 2’s MM on the console and many, many other original Xbox games that had online play. Halo 3 will stay available for online for a very long time because it is part of the Xbox 360 system, which still has their servers up and running. Look how long it took for them to shut down the old Xbox servers after the Xbox 360 came out. years.
