Basically just the title.
After hearing the news of challenge-only XP being in Halo Infinite, I didn’t exactly hate the idea but I was a little on edge about it. when the recent Halo article about the amount of challenges was released, I was like, “Oh wow, 18 hours of challenges per day? I guess that alleviates my concerns and fixes the problem.”
But uh, after playing the flight today, all the comments I’ve seen people make complaining about it have just been fully realized.
I DID in fact find myself ignoring the objective of the match.
I DID only go after weapons needed to complete my challenges.
I DID shamelessly afk half a couple matches just to get over the hassle of the “Complete x amount of games” challenge.
I DID completely ignore kills just to grapple to people for my challenge instead.
It’s such a frustrating system to deal with in-game. There’s no pros to this system (at least for the player), it doesn’t make any sense why they would make the scoring system completely obsolete. It literally hurts no one to AT LEAST add 100xp per kill and every objective score.
And yes I was fully aware of the volume of these posts complaining about XP prior to making this one, but a high volume of these posts is a good thing. The more posts we make about this, the more likely it is to be changed by 343 (hopefully).
