I am in no way trying to complain about Halo 4’s multiplayer. Want to clear that up first before people start becoming defensive over their opinions. However,
Does anyone agree?
I’ve been betrayed more often, people recklessly die and try to get suicide kills…
Anybody think there should be a separate set of playlists for people who want to play more competitively? (Social and Ranked separated)
I like to win the games I’m in. Whether on a team or FFA match, I think winning is more fun to most people. Getting XP to level your virtual Spartan is also self-satisfying. From what I’ve experienced, they sort of go together.
The behavior you describe can be found in all MP games across all platforms. Yea it’s a shame, but nothing to do with XP or winning and loosing. People just like doing dumb stuff in video games and the anonymous nature of it allows all kinds of craziness to happen.

Well yeah there has been a few threads about it, but that will most likely never happen in Halo 4.
The XP system offers more incentive to win (to an extent) than other Halo games did. In Reach, there were credits. You’d get a couple thousand per game and 10k+ per day in challenges, and winning only gave you what like 250? In H3, winning gave you 1XP vs 0XP.
In 4, winning is what 750 XP? When losing gets you around 2k XP and winning is 750, that’s a significant amount really. The people who run around betraying are people who don’t really care about XP, and probably didn’t care about cR in Reach, etc. They’ve been doing it every game they played.
Unfortunately, I do feel that more people will just goof off after they max out at 130, but more people play to win than those who just want to grief teammates.
Personally, I haven’t run into this issue, and I’m thankful.
EDIT: I forgot to mention commendations for winning. As you may have noticed, there are commendations for winning each gametype, and not just slayer. This is even more incentive for players to want to win more than just do things for themselves or cause a loss for their team. But as I said, people who do just goof off don’t care anyway.
