XP RP Boost rarity?

Can somebody please explain how the different boosts function with regards to their rarity? Does that just mean that they last for more and more games. Also, If you use a legendary and don’t use it all and then switch to warzone playlist will it still be waiting for you when you come back or are you screwed for switching playlists?

The higher the rarity; the more XP / RP that is rewarded.

They always last for 1 game, but you keep them as long as you odn’t use any.
