XP gained should be score devided by 10, +50 on win

seriously that is simple and it rewards skill. you earn 2,000 points in match you get 200 XP win the match get 250 XP.

simple and easy. sure it means some people will be done with the battlepass in a week but it also feels more rewarding over all.

To balance it they can easily change the XP per level to 2,000 so progression feels more rewarding and is more rewarding, bigger numbers are better.

I’m pretty sure 343 left out a system like this intentionally on launch so people would get sick of the slow progression and shell out extra money for BP levels, double XP, and challenge swaps. Frontloading their earnings before patching in a less egregious progression system later. There’s no way a system like this alone would have gotten past the design phase without it being intentional.

Actually you would be surprised, they wanted it to be something optional in doing the challanges but wanted them to cause players to try something new. not realizing just how players act and react.

It is a strangely easy mistake to make, forgetting human nature.

This is really weird, because at least some devs have phycologists they use as consultants to figure out how people might play, and how best to keep them addicted to the game. And you’d think that if it wasn’t intentional, it would have been noticed during playtests.

Edit: Funnily enough, this article I looked up for reference, mentions that Microsoft does in fact use these consultants.

Yeah I said the same thing earlier. Score is really nicely calculated; I hope they utilize it in a way that’s meaningful.

Yeah lets hope we gett an overhaul by launch.

Bett 20 dollars worth of halo credits, that some marketing a-hole told them to put the system like this, so they are showing them just how bad it can be.

Bet the devs intentionally made it harder just for the backlash so they can remove it. (a man can dream right.)

Lol I hope you’re right cause then it’ll get fixed quickly, but i think more than likely this will get fixed a few months after launch, between Seasons 1 and 2, cause they’re gonna have to overhaul the entire system.

Yep, nomater what they have to overhaul everything.

My realistic bet is that it will be around 3 months before we get per-match performance based XP.
