I completed all my weekly challenges and NOW the ONLY way I can earn XP is by playing matches. A MEASLY 50 xp per game. The fact that this game doesnt have a SKILL BASED XP SYSTEM designed around a combination of KILLS, K/D RATIO, ASSISTS, OBJECTIVES, FEATS ( double kills, killing sprees etc ), AND other SKILLFUL Gameplay is UTTERLY 100% U.N.A.C.E.P.T.A.BLE.
The current XP system also caters to casual players because it doesnt require ACTUAL PARTICIPATION OTHER THAN PLAYING A MATCH. Imagine designing a game where you dont actually reward players for playing well. WHAT game does this ? What kind of “people” sit down and ACTUALLY think this system is good/innovative or acceptable, ESPECIALLY FROM A AAA STUDIO THAT HAS HAD AMPLE TIME TO DESIGN IT ???
I really want to know how this game even passed quality control. This XP system is not only boring and annoying it’s straight up lazy game design. And I get that same “lazy” vibe from a lot of things in Halo Infinite, INCLUDING but not limited to the fact that there are:
A. No New Vehicles. None. And don’t even think about saying the Transport warthog is “new” just because it can carry the flag. IMAGINE working on a game for 5 plus years and the best you can do is reuse vehicles and somehow make them WORSE ( Brute chopper, Banshee )
— THE LEAST you could have done was include the Brute transport from Halo 3, a few scarab Battles and a Flyable Pelican which players have been asking for for a lonnnnng time. Even Halo 4 had a flyable Pelican and I would say that even Halo 4 had a better campaign than Halo Infinite because at least it had multiple Biomes, an interesting Villain, good Cortana story and a cool part in the Space fighter in place of the warthog run.
B. Many weapons feel Useless or underpowered ( Ravager is utterly unusable ), ( shotty is weak, not enough ammo or damage ), ( Commando is useless against more than one player with high recoil and low ammo count ), ( Brute shotty takes wayyy too many shots to kill )
C. THE flag and Oddball not being a one hit kill is a complete joke. There was no reason to change this. None whatsoever
D. Only One Biome in Campaign coupled with the overuse of those Hexagon pillars bleeding into the landscape anywhere. The Artwork foe the game in the Art of Halo Infinite looks Amazing. The Final game locations and terrain ? Boring and Uninspired with the exception of the Forerunner structurws which felt overused even compared to Halo CE.
E. The game looks nothing like the Beautiful 2018 trailer.
F. Escharum’s dialogue is cringy. Really cringe. Especially when he speaks to chief with low tier tropes like “tHIs wILl bE a TeSt of LegEnDs”. Like come on, this is a triple A franchise, not some low budget mobile game story. Imagine if any of the characters from Halo CE, 2, 3 or Reach spoke like that to the characters and how dumb it would sound.
G. Vehicle Handling. The warthog handles like a Boat Floating on Land and tips over WAYYY WAYYY WAYYYYYY too Easily. The Razorback Handling is how the Warthog should be to begin with. It has much more “weight” to it and doesnt flip over easily. Same goes for the Brute Chopper. It’s almost Unsteerable and didnt even need to be changed from the AMAZING halo 3 version. You could have LITERALLY just added the Halo 3 version and we would have been happy.
H. No Audio in Lobbies is unacceptable. No Halo 2 style ranks. Unnaceptable. No map Voting. Wow. But what to expect when you only have a MEASLY 10 maps in the game after working on it for half a decade.
I. No Guass Hog ? No SMG ? No Beam Rifle ? No Plasma Rifle ? Just wow. That’s all I have to say…
J. Add Elites back in already…Even if it’s a separate playlist.
Oh and No Assault Game mode, KOH or Juggernaut. No Service record or stats. No classic maps. ( The LEAST you could have done was include Midship, Lockout, Blood Gulch, Ivory Tower or Collossus ), No actual armor in the armor lockers. The list goes on and on and on.
There are a TON of other issues with the game quality which I won’t get into, but this is enough for now. I expected more from this game. A lot more as someone who has been playing Halo since 2001. Even the UI is boring and I’m tired of seeing the lame FOB background.
