This move again shows how cheap an greedy 343i really is. Give out some Cosmetics? Or some credits, 500 maybe? No., they give us the most useless crap there is.
Compare this to Playground Games and Forza Horizon 5, where they gave free currency and cars, for some minor bugs they fixed way faster than 343i did.
This behavior is pathetic and shows (once more) the greedy nature of 343i.
Halo Infinite is designed as a Free to Play game, which means the “newest players” coming to the game are more important than veteran players who have been playing for days, weeks, or months(and who may have already completed the Battle Pass). Those compensation rewards weren’t meant for players like you, they were bait to lure in new players.
I always find it funny when people complain about ‘free’ stuff, even if it is minuscule. Would you prefer that they give you nothing moving forward? Because they could have easily done that instead. If you think they’re going to give all of the playerbase ‘500’ credits, you’re dreaming.
Just saying, how this game is designed, that selfishness will be a thing throughout Infinite’s life span. It doesn’t matter how many times 343 is called out on anything and that’s because the game is mainly being treated as a business instead of a game that is being created for the player base as well as themselves.
I have no faith in any AAA gaming company these days that they will ever do right by the player base unless it’s a single-player game, and that’s because a good portion of this player base alone doesn’t give a flying hoot about getting a quality type of game.
I’m done with giving (multi-billion dollar companies constructive feedback) because of their half-backed games making millions but don’t offer diddly squat in return, and have been for a while now and it’s why I post the way I do. 343/Microsoft literally had over a decade of feedback, there is no real reason this game should be in such the poor state it actually is in as of now. We shouldn’t be giving them any feedback at all because at this point after a decade the company still can’t get its act together knowing they should at least know what they are doing to an extent by now, but their actions show otherwise.

Howdy folks - Quick update that so far so good with the certification process. As of now, the BTB hotfix is tracking towards being released tomorrow, Jan. 19. When the hotfix does go live, the aforementioned grant of XP boosts and challenge swaps will also be active (automatically granted upon log in).

To be fair they didn’t have to give us anything; however, 4 challenge swaps is really nothing. Sometimes I burn through more than that on a single challenge trying to get something that isn’t asking me to find a unicorn, while wearing a blindfold.

You know what REALLY sucks?
I have A LOT of XP Boosts that I cannot use.
I am Level 100 in the main battle-pass, and because of that, I cannot boost the event passes to give me the tiers faster.
If only I could exchange a boost or two for a tier in the event passes, or if I could exchange them for shop currency.
Really? It very clearly states when they’re expecting to release the hotfix. As I type this, over in Washington state in the US, which is where 343i is located, it is 8.30pm on 18th January.
As I have already written, they are kind of “obliged” because they shipped a non functioning product. People paid money for stuff in their game while it wasn’t working properly.
We as a community and customers shouldn’t let them pass with all this stupid behavior. We should hold them accountable and not let them dictate the truth, by saying it is a free present for us. No, this is at best a compensation, and a lousy one.
If you want to change sth. in this industry it is by standing up for your customers rights and not treat every lousy move like a blessing that these godly publishing creatures grant us peasants .
