That did it.
If you have some type of wireless dongle for a keyboard, it can be the controller attachable keyboard or another wireless keyboard, it should disappear.
Just remove the wireless dongle or usb fob from the platform and it should disappear.
Could also plug a usb mouse into the xbox and move the cursor out of the way and unplug it, and plug the dongle back in
Pressing the Windows key bottom left of keyboard removed it for me.

Im having the same problem cant even play the game it has it in the middle of my screen
This started happening after the winter update. prolly some bug they introduced when fixing the mouse and keyboard for the PC. Who knows. I’ve sent xbox a ticket noting the issue but no response.
Same here. On series X. Any updates on how to fix? Happens each time I turn on them I press the home button and it goes away for a brief period. Then come back when I log back on…
I have the same issue and have a temporary fix. You have to do it every time which is annoying but it works. What you do os click on the news box which rotates everything new in the game. It’s the first thing you seen on the Home Screen in the “play tab”. Click on any of the links that take you to the halo waypoint site on your xbox. You can move the cursor for like 2 seconds and then keep clicking the B button to go back to the game. The cursor should be gone until you load up the game the next time. Hope that helps.
