Just wondered how many of you are planning on getting a series X on day 1 and more specifically how many of you are betting it all on whether infinite delivers or not?
Personally I’ll be buying both next gen consoles, but the order will be determined by launch line up, and infinite is a big trump card… If they can get Halo infinite to be the sequel I’ve been craving since h3, then I’ll go for Series X. Playstation have an hour long gaming event coming up that is sure to be good. And in the absence of infinite info, July will be crunch time for me…
As I already own a One X, worst case scenario is I’ll get infinite on that if it doesn’t tick the boxes. And start with a Ps5 if line up is strong…
I’m buying Xbox Series X day one. Halo Infinite is not a reason. In fact, as things stand I’m not buying Halo Infinite day one but that can change. I need more info before making a commitment to Halo Infinite. I’ve be burned three times by 343i, Halo 4, Halo 5 and the MCC, it won’t happen again.
As for PS5, I’ll get one at some point, their exclusives are amazing.
I’ve turned into a full PC guy, therefore I’m not getting a console to begin with!
If I still was into consoles, well, after H4/5 and the MCC Halo wouldn’t be the main reason for getting a XBox anymore. The other devs and certain iPs under MS however are a damn good reason! Obsidian, Double Fine, Playground Games, InXile, the Initiative… So a lot of RPG game which I love! Not to mention some weird jewelry like Perfect Dark, Brütal Legend 2, Psychonauts 3 and Fable (if those will ever see the light of day in first place) will be XBox exclusive. Also with MS you get the better services, better MP overall and XSX will obviously run third party titles quite a bit better than PS5.
So yeah, unless Sony doesn’t kill it next week with their line-up (meaning I want actual games like Persona and not just scripted movies with tunnel level design), I would get XBox first and PS only later down the line. Halo in all this after 343i history sadly is just an important asterisk, a side not that could become a killer application or just another H5 based on the gameplay reveal in July…
I will be getting the series x just for infinite. Day 1. I may be a mindless consumer but Halo is too special. The hype around infinite is great, I just hope I don’t get burned by it come proper gameplay reveal in July, and subsequently, the official release.

Just wait for the reveal mate! Like I said before, Hi has the potential of being a killer app if done right, but it also could be a huge let-down. It also has to do with your preferred kind of gameplay I would guess, if Infinite goes classic H5 fans will be pissed and vice-versa. Kinda feel sorry for 343i frankly!
I’m probably going to get it day 1, while I really do not like what Halo 5 did with multiplayer I still enjoy campaign, and 343i’s massive improvements to Forge mode.

Oh yeah forgot to mention got a particular LG 4k TV with a 2.1 hdmi cable in. Going all the way in, regardless of the console I get first. REALLY rooting for Halo infinite tho, can only play MCC for so long.

I don’t think h5 is a bad game objectively, but it isn’t the Halo experience that many expect (including myself, I only went bk to h5 for mythic slayer, wasn’t bad). However I don’t think anyone can deny how good Forge or the custom game browser is… I would hope to see both these things at launch also.

You’re right Microsoft have so many IPs and opportunities to create new experiences. The 360 era was the height of their portfolio, hope they can reach those heights again. Competition is good 4 all. But I can’t see a launch title with as much impact as Halo Infinite (assuming it returns to what made Halo unique).
I plan on buying both the Xbox series x and ps5. As long as infinite still launches with it I’ll likely just buy the series x and infinite and wait on the ps5 and other games since halo will likely be taking up all my free time for awhile.
I don’t intend to get the Series X soon, but probably will get it eventually. I don’t really have a need for a 4K powerhouse gaming machine, and my PC can run every game fairly well.
I reckon I’ll buy Halo Infinite Limited Edition for the Xbox One (because of the smart delivery thing) and play it a bit on both that and on PC through game-pass. That way I can play it at a fairly good standard at launch, and have actual ownership of the the game for XSX if I eventually get that.
Im 50/50 with xbox Sx and Halo Infinite the only games I play most of is Halo games ,Gears of War games and some fighting games…not to much for me, Ive gotten burned out with companies charger for every little thing and its hard for me stay playing with most games cause of that and the fact most games are rushed witch leaves us with broken games that get fixed down the road some but not all get fix. Once more info comes out it might change my mind tho.
I will get it day one cause I make poor life choices. Really though, I just want the performance buff. I mainly game on PC so really it does not matter but many of my friends don’t so I was the seamless performance on both. Infinite is just the desert that comes with it
I’m getting both as well. Getting xbox first because it’s more powerful and from the looks of it the controller will be better again, though I’m just gonna stick with my elite most likely anyway lol It doesn’t matter to me if Infinite launches with it, I’m getting it day 1. I’m sick of this generation to be honest. I’ll get a PS5 on sale a year or two once it has a handful of exclusives I wanna play.
I am getting a Series X day one pretty much just for Infinite. I would be getting the console anyways but Infinite is the sole reason why I’m getting it day one. I’m also extremely excited for all that new power the Series X will have for a bunch of other games.

That’s pretty much where I’m at as well. Unless ps5 launches with a new twisted metal or infamous, that would definitely move up the time frame. It’s hard justify rushing out to get both when I know I’ll likely just be playing infinite the first few months.

I don’t know about Twisted Metal but I really doubt we’re getting another Infamous for quite a long time considering Sucker Punch is launching Ghost of Tsushima this year. Unless they’ve had a studio working on a sequel in secret all this time which in unlikely.

I highly doubt it as well, nor do I think twisted metal is likely either. Those would just be the biggest game changers for me on the PlayStation side of things.
