Xbox Scorpio= Upgrade Graphics?

I saw a video of LNG all about upscaleing graphics on Halo 5 since we the Scorpio running on 6 Teraflops which is 4 times as powerful the original Xbox One and since the Xbox One can barely hold its 60FPS on Halo 5 and can’t have Split Screen. The Scorpio can have 343 do these things:

  • Upgraded Graphics - Spit ScreenMaybe even better FPS like 90 or maybe 120.
    What do you think?

> FPS like 90 or maybe even 120

Definitely not. We’re already pushing for 4k resolution; it’d be a miracle to get a consistant 60 without split-screen.

We’ve already seen what sacrifices have to be made for that smooth 60 FPS. Let’s use the scorpio to cut back on those sacrifices, and actually move the texture resolution above sodding 720p, and stop having animations lose frames at distances of only 15-20 meters.

2017 marks 10th anniversary for Halo 3
I would go with making an anniversary update of Halo 3 and making all games in the collection run 1080/60fps.

Well, lets look at something here
Titan X (Most powerful GPU available now) has 7 teraflops of G power and Scorpio is at 6 - I think 90 FPS at 1080 should be a breeze for it.

Wrong, Nvidia GTX 1080 is the most powerful gaming GPU. The GP100 is going to be even more powerful.

Phil Spencer had said that the Scorpio will primarily be used for 4K gaming. That unless you had a 4K television there was no point in getting one, and that you’d be better off with the S.

Or, get scorpio for a smooth constant 1080p 60fps then when you can, get a 4k monitor

I’m happy with current graphics I just want better gameplay value over graphics any day.

IGN released a video saying that the Project Scorpio would only benefit those with a 4k t.v. or monitor (if there is one). It would be a pointless buy if you don’t own one.

There are, and they are just as -Yoinking!- expensive. Fingers crossed that they have another price drop before scorpio is released.

Ah yes, forgot this thing came out.
But still - can’t say Titan X is a wimp.

I have my 2k monitor. Hopefully we’ll be able to chose between 1080, 1440 (2k) and 4k.

Been gaming on 4k for a while now and can honestly say it’s not worth it. They should use the Scorpio to render at 1080p and put its power to having higher lighting quality and material quality instead of 4k. You will see much more improvement from that.

Another issue is if you plan on using a 4k TV most of the have pretty poor response time.

That why 4k monitor exist with 1ms response time.

Yes and these are consoles that a huge amount of people play in the living room where they have a TV not a monitor.

That’s kind of bull though. Let’s be honest, he was saying that for marketing purposes for the Xbox One S, which has 4k capabilities. If he came out and said “Oh yeah, Scorpio will be much better for all sorts of gaming”, nobody would go out and get the Xbox One S, right? It makes more sense to wait a year and get the Scorpio instead.

The Scorpio is a massive upgrade over the current console, there’s no doubt about it.

It’s been confirmed that a game like Halo 5 on the Scorpio will never drop below 60 fps.
Also, There are reasons other than 4k gaming to get the Scorprio… Virtual Reality.

And maybe it will be cool looking. Based on its name only I think it would look dope

Do we really need to buy a new Xbox just to get graphics that should have been?

Yea, no thanks.
