Xbox One S and Halo Games

So, With the new announced and -Yoink!- looking xbox one S, I’m curious if there will be a patch for that console specifically for Halo 5. I believe this console will have more horsepower underneath the hood.

Also regarding older halo games and backwards compatibility games such as Reach. (rip BC Reach on Xbox One) I wonder if 360 games will benefit at all.

The consoles only gonna be $299 for the 500gb and $399 for the 2TB so i’m sold, sucks that I’ll be in bootcamp for its launch on august 31st, so yall have fun for me lol

EDIT: The S is not the more powerful one! My apologies! The Scorpio is the one i’ll be buying in something 2017

Im not buying another console.
Idk why people treat consoles like cell phones.
Or why people buy new cell phones all the time…

Technology advances so quickly that consoles are having a hard time keeping up with the times.

Idk what you mean by people treating consoles like cell phones, this is an odd time for modern gamers, the Xbox one as it is won’t last for 10+ years like the 360 did with its current specs.

Phones on the other hand, idk, its just that market. People want power in their hands, phones are becoming as powerful as computers and to do it all on one device is just awesome.

I don’t think it’s worth going awol over. We don’t have enough specs to compare to the existing one yet. Also rip kinect.

Here’s Microsofts VIDEO on it. Laying out some specs

See i’m a sucker for the simplicity and convenience of console gaming, but I love the higher fidelity of PC gaming with the bigger library and higher resolution, unfortunately my hands hurt after a while of PC gaming since keyboard and mouse feels like it gives me carpal tunnel. (I know you can use a controller on PC but with competitive games, everyones using KB+Mouse so you will instantly lose)

Just give me the hardware if I’ve got to upgrade my box to play new games. I bought the thing to last, that’s the whole point of consoles compared to pc. But if I’ve got to treat my console like a pc what is the point of the console? I’d just buy a gaming pc and call it a day.

Xboxes are not iphones.

I saw the video, but here are the specs I think are important for a proper comparison, that are missing or have yet to be announced:

  • Dimensions
  • Weight
  • CPU
  • GPU
  • RAM

No ones forcing you to buy it, Microsoft will fully support the regular Xbox One.

But as I’ve said before, technology is advancing so quickly that the longer lasting generation like the Xbox 360 isn’t possible.

Found some stats running around on Xbox Reddit

8 CPU cores, 320GB memory bandwidth per second
6 teraflops of GPU
True 4K resolution
60hz, uncompressed pixels
Holiday 2017
Designed to move the gaming industry into 4K gaming and high quality VR
Xbox One, S, and Scorpio are all fully compatible
All games and accessories work on all three

And SIZE comparison

Oh snap Im wrong people, I think I’m looking up the stats for the Scorpio, but not the S? Idk i’m confused

Thanks for this. It is a very impressive machine. Also don’t forget no more power brick.

The S model isn’t that much different from the base One model, aside from the ability of outputting at 4K, a smaller chassis, and a larger hard drive. In addition to the removal of the Kinect port. Any spec bumps would probably only assist the former. (In short, basically a slim model)

The Scorpio is the one with the actual hardware bumps, and comes next year. Were you referencing that, by chance? Because that would more likely than not require a patch.

Yup! lol got too happy, do NOT buy the S thinking it’ll be more powerful people!

I am down… I will probably get it… Xbox one hasn’t impressed me all that much graphics wise for Halo so hopefully that system will

Remember, not the S model, the Scorpio is the one we want! Which is coming out 2017

The potential of it being that I’d need to upgrade just to play a game is the problem. It sad I know but, im expecting jackyoink moves from devs now a days.

Yeah I am not interested in another Xbox one

I’m pretty sure it won’t be like that.

If anything, the difference between the original Xbox One and the Scorpio might be like flipping a graphical setting on a PC game from Low/Medium to High/Ultra, and 4K as opposed to 1080p if needed or even appropriate.

Now, maybe this might happen further down the line, but at that point it would reach a average console lifespan anyway. Last gen being a very notable exception.

The only upgrade is 4k streaming as it will have hdmi 2.0, but that’s only for movies. Game, no. Though it will support hdr lighting, that’s the only upside it has.
If you want to upgrade, your better off waiting till scorpio as that actually is an upgrade with power. S is smaller

The S only plays TV in 4k. The scorpio will be the one that plays games in 4k, which isn’t coming until 2017, and will probably be 600-700
