So i bought JUST 7 MONTHS ago the Afterglow agu.1s headset(89.90$ on Amazon) and now microsoft is telling me that they are NOT COMPATIBLE with the xbox one?? WTF ARE YOU DOING Microsoft?
I want to buy an xbox one because halo is my favourite saga but i will need to spend more money just to buy a new headset . -Yoink- YOU Microsoft
I thought we’ve known the new console wouldn’t be compatible with current gen headsets, since the beginning of the year or so?
I did anyway. Sad story bro, that’s a nice and expensive headset. Totally get why you’re upset.
I don’t think any Xbone headsets will be 360 compatible…hear-say is he Xbone uses a different communication method/cable/something or other the 360 doesn’t. Thus the incapability.
I don’t have a source for that though, so it’s just speculation.
I recently bought a Turtle Beach x41 for about $160. Going to buy another set this fall. It sucks but it’s not like it’s abnormal for advancing technology to not be compatible with older stuff. It’s only the chat feature that isn’t compatible as there is no mic port on the Xbox One controllers. On the bright side, at least when I get a new one it will be fully wireless.
Hopefully some one will make a converter of some sort.
Lucky it’s only a £57 headset you could be in far worse luck if it was one of those fancy £100 headsets. However my headset was a £35 Turtle Beach X12, lasted for a two years and about a month ago it broke. I almost bought a £70 headset but then heard about the compatibility problems so decided against it. It is a shame though, spending all that money and not being able to swap it to the XONE.
There is an adapter that should never have had to be bought that piggies L+R jacks for audio plugs with the HDMI out.
But ya… The actual headsets, they no a work. But I didn’t buy one yet and it is called a new system so I’m in luck… I love my luck.

Wait a sec, so the Xbox One will not have an optical audio out? If so then I will need to finally buy a new receiver.
