Xbox One and 360 External Storage Questions

Hey all,

It has been ages since I have been on these forums, so it is good to be back. I am looking at getting an external hard drive for my Xbox One and my Xbox 360. I just have a few questions about which setup would be the best.

In regards to the Xbox One, I am tossing up whether to get a desktop external hard drive that relies on its own power source (non USB powered) or to get an enclosure along with a 3.5" SATA mechanical hard drive. For the desktop external hard drive I was looking at something similar to a WD Elements Desktop 4TB External Hard Drive (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=260#Tab2). For the enclosure option, I was looking at the Nyko Data Bank for Xbox One (http://nyko.com/collections/xbox-one/products/data-bank-for-xbox-one) with a WD Blue 4TB 3.5" SATA Drive (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=770#Tab2). Which one would be better for me in terms of reliability and performance?

In regards to the Xbox 360, I was tossing up between a desktop external hard drive or a portable USB powered hard drive. For the desktop external hard drive I was again looking at something like a WD Elements Desktop Hard Drive (in a 2 TB version). For the portable USB powered hard drive, I was looking at a WB My Passport X 2TB Hard Drive (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=1480) or a Seagate Game Drive for Xbox (http://www.seagate.com/au/en/products/hard-drives-for-gaming/game-drive-xbox/). Which one would be better? Would it be worth getting a desktop external hard drive for my 360 or would a USB powered portable drive be fine?

Thanks and if you don’t like my hard drive suggestions, please suggest different drives that I should use.
