I for one just really think the rep system either needs a complete overhaul or needs to be scrapped altogether. I notice that any time i play a game that i happen to be really good at i receive bad rep when i am playing good at a game.
Just earlier yesterday i was on a roll in Gears Of War 3 and after every match i got bad rep for being overly aggressive or unsporting conduct.
The rep system was meant for people to see if someone is a good player or not. But dishonesty, impatience, and lying have made it pointless. Rep is based on what people think of you, so if you kill them to much, you are aggressive. Rep needs to be scrapped in general
It doesn’t do anything, really. I have found myself matched with players who I had recently avoided. The numbers lead to some confusion, due to the fact that they’re only based on people who have submitted reviews. With most everybody only submitting negative player reviews, lots of people find it strange when it says that 80% (an arbitrarily-picked number) avoided them.

> Your opinions about Rep?
If you have asked about if the Rep/Report system works, then that indicates how bad/ineffective it is.
> Well one of my friends NEVER uses her mic when we play. Like, ever. And when she does, we’re in party chat.

same, i dont use my mic anymore since i use it for my computer so yea
There’s a study out there that proves that Rep does not function as advertised – or at all, really. Forget where it was, though. Anyway, chances are, Microsoft canned it during development due to the frequency at which players submit false negative reviews.
Among other things:
The percentage of “players that preferred you or did not submit a review” is actually only the percentage of players that preferred you. Because almost no one ever submits positive reviews, this means that negative Rep never decays over time.
Rep does not affect the likelihood of matching a particular player.
The stars on a person’s gamer card are linked to the number of reviews of any type. Even if someone gets exclusively negative reviews, they’ll still make it to a five-star Rep.

same for me. I NEVER use my mic outside of party chat with friends but I have almost a 100% avoidance rate with 70% trash talk / disruptive voice.
I do beat players pretty badly in games like Battlefield 3 and Halo and I think they just don’t like that =)

That sounds like something that I see in my reputation page. I only used my mic twice with randoms and I rarely talked even then. And in my rep page, it says:
“60% of players preffered you or did not submit a review of you”
“40% of players avoided you”
And that 40 percent is only with Trash Talking according to my rep page, and it said:
Trash Talking: 50%
Everything else was at 0%.
And that appeared before I evn found out I had a mic the whole time.
Apparently I feel like theres people out there who just get angry because they were just owned in a match and picked the first thing that appeared when avoiding a player.
And if that is what happened, I give it a big:
-_-
Besides, I generally use my mic in party chat (And I use Party chat a lot).

Yep. That happens to me too. Always in party chat, yet trash talking and unsporting behavior are 70+

A lot of gaming websites try to do something like that but like all things nothing is perfect and they have been exploited.
